Ok this is not the spot for a vegan. I ate here with friends for breakfast. However, they do have great sweet potato fries and smoothies.

The cute name aside, this place did not disappoint, and in fact more than lived up to its name. Thanks to our hostess and server, Martine, we had a wonderful experience here. They only serve breakfast and lunch, and we didn't arrive until about 1PM, but they were most accomodating with our orders of salmon eggs benedict for me, and... More

Visited for breakfast. Had the waffles with very fresh, sweet strawberries. Pancakes also available, however, they were not that good. Many choices if you are an egg lover. Pleasant waitress, great service. Definitely recommend if you are in Montreal.

The pancakes mixed with the maple syrup on top was divine. The prices were very reasonable too. Would definitely recommend.

It started pouring mid-morning and luckily Eggspectation was on the horizon so we ducked inside for refuge. They tout themselves as a bar, cafe, and restaurant. Think 2 notches up from The Good Egg or The Egg and I. The menu was so overwhelming that the waitress had to come by 3 times to check on us before we were... More

Pros: easy to find (near Place-des-Arts); good food; English speaking staff; reasonable price; many menu choices. Con: menu only in French. Information: cab driver suggested Eggspectation and we're glad he did. The Eggs Benedict was fantastic and the service was very fast. Great place to stop for brunch.

I took the mothers day special omelet. It was ok. Nothing special in fact. $ 19,95 is a little overpriced for it. Nice service though

The food was great as was the service. A little pricey but large portions and friendly staff. We were there at a busy moment but we're sat quickly and food was fast.

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
