Get there early if you want to eat before a Habs game. Great food, reasonable prices and steps from the Bell Centre.

I really fancied some pork rib for dinner and this place wasn't too far from our hotel, but was concerned with the many mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. Anyway, decided to give it a try. Friendly greeting, it wasn't very busy. My rib was delicious and my wife's steak was very tender and cooked to perfection, medium rare exactly as... More

Honestly, there was nothing incredibly wrong with my meal at Bâton Rouge, but it was not memorable in a positive way. My family and I, while visiting Montréal, had visited Mary Queen of the World Cathedral and we're looking for a good place to eat. We found Bâton and walked from the Cathedral, a 5 minute walk. The atmosphere of... More

Went here on the recommendation of a good friend. Had the Sirloin with goat cheese, which was only $24 Cdn! Can't beat that. Steak was very good, and for a Friday evening, it was definitely not crowded, as there were no venues that evening at the Centre Bell. Had the crème brulee for dessert. Food and service were great.

The ONLY drawback for some is the limited menu when there is an event at the Bell Centre. The food that we ordered was delicious and my steak was cooked PERFECTLY! Our waiter (I think his name was Vincent) was superb! It was very busy the night we came in (a Friday night when there was a wrestling event at... More

Our group went out of our way to have a taste of their advertised "lobster poutine" but we found out it was no longer available but still on the menu...the reason the waiter gave us was: the lobster supplier was not up to their standards, when we asked the manager the reason it was still advertised on their website and... We had reserved with a group of 10 and although I found the food to be acceptable, I thought it was not great and that was the general overhaul impression from our group. I was very disappointed to find out that they did not serve the traditional poutine fries or chicken wings. Not very convenient when you have a very... More

This restaurant is in a great location within walking distance from many hotels and the Bell Center. We came for dinner after a hockey game and suprisingly there were only a few customers. The restaurant was very dark and tables in the upstairs location were squeezed very close together which made it hard to walk around in certain spots. Waitress... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
