I really thought that i was going to a restaurant where the buzz would be better than the food so i was really surprised when the food tasted so good. We did the tasting menu - every single dish was excellent - great service . really enjoyed it . Will definitely go again.

We enjoyed a dinner for two. Dumplings, Kobe beef and two mains of veal chop and angelotti. All nicely presented with good balance of ingredients. We were well advised not to over-order and did not feel pushed or rushed. Looking forward to a return visit.

Ate there last night for my office party. Service was attentive and very good. It's a really nice venue, very hip. I had the beef tartare, it was delicious. There was a basket of bread brushed with olive oil and lightly toasted that was replaced several times. My main course was a thick steak with potatoes and spinach. The steak... More

There are so many amazing restaurants in Montreal, you may as well go somewhere else. It is super expensive for what you get (portions are very small). Don't get me wrong, the food tasted delicious, but I have had better for that price. I recommend the burratina appetizer and the ravioli as a main (you only get like 5 pieces... More

Where to start on a restaurant like this. Had a friend come in from out of town and so our group of friends decided to go out (four couples) to this restaurant. We're all from Montreal so we're familiar to the Montreal restaurant scene, taking a chance on a typical Old Port restaurant (many many tourist traps being very expensive... More

Exceptional food, I had the chance of doing a taste sampling because we were a large group. Tuna sashimi, beef tartare, dumpling, steak, ribs, everything was tastefully with surprises. Can be for romantic diner as well, staff was very helpfull describing each meals.

This is my second trip to Mercuri. I have to say from the get-go that the service was excellent, the waiter friendly and helpful, and he explained all the dishes in detail. I had eaten lunch at this resto before but I wanted to try dinner this time, and since it's restaurant week, the prices for dinner are much more... More

We went for MtlATable, Montreal Restaurant Week. The food was wonderful. The dumplings in particular were exquisite - they serve those in heaven. Service was efficient and friendly. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was like a club. Dance music was so loud that my wife and I had a hard time hearing each other. The room was so dark that it was... More

Atmosphere great, food great, service great. The dumpling appetizer was incredible, and the fire cooked ribs were great. Also had the ravioli, very good, and the leek appetizer, which was just ok.

Description
The cuisine at Mercuri is "New Montreal" or "Modern Montreal", which is a 'cuisine of cuisines', showcasing mainly Quebec produce, as well as, ingredients from all over the world - ingredients that are at its peak. Like Montreal's heritage, which is so rich in culture, and so broad in its influences, chef Mercuri aims to demonstrate the same in his food. It is not a style, or a particular dish, but how the ingredients are combined. At its heart are French and Italian roots, but the inspiration is truly the cultural mosaic that makes Montreal so unique. It is a heartfelt interpretation and an homage to all the cuisines and richness that make Montreal what it is.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
