Really like this place. My wife and I went to that place a few time on Sunday for lunch. Menu is simple but creative and food is tasty. Service include smile We enjoy our experience and recommend it.

On weekend, you'll mainly find locals eating brunch with friends and family. The place is a bit small and full, and there are some interesting choices for brunches, a nice change from the commercial chains. They offer a small selection of products to go, including frozen lunches.

Just about shocking. Soup was somewhere between lukewarm and room temperature. Wife's quiche was soggy as if reheated in microwave. My fish and chips probably weighed 4 oz. including chips. Fish was served on sheet of paper placed in a bowl. Fish was so soggy, paper started breaking apart and sticking to the fish. Nice. Looks appealing on the outside,... More

a couple of girlfriends and I were looking forward to catching up and this place was recommended. We made reservations because they were suggested. We arrived at 11:45 - we were the second table - the rest of the place was empty. The menu choices are rather limited - and if you want a simple scramble egg and bacon -... More

Every meal I've had at Ma Tante Quiche whether it was their famous fish 'n chips, linguini Alfredo, Primavera or with a rosé sauce, pulled pork sandwich, etc. has been lovingly prepared by owner Chantal and her assistants. It was worth waiting the extra few minutes (if indeed I ever did have to wait) to get a home-made delicious meal... More

It's hard to rate a restaurant like this. The food is great but the service truly ruins the experience. The water is filled with bathroom tap water. After waiting at least 20 min before the water came. If you eat here be patient and expect awful service.

Staying in Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)

Neighborhood Profile
Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)
Once the core of industrialized Montreal, the factories and historic buildings of Le Sud-Ouest have been renovated into homes, museums, and small businesses. The rejuvenated landscape has put its Saint-Henri district in vogue, with cutting-edge galleries and an ever-expanding network of restaurants. Foodies can especially delight in the mom-and-pop shops in Little Burgundy, or at the Atwater Market, where outdoor stalls sell fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat, street vendors have menus of hot fish and wine, and the indoor market offers chocolate, breads, and coffee beans. Dominated by the gentle waters of the Lachine Canal, Le Sud-Ouest is still very much an outdoor town, with a number of pedestrian-only bridges traversing the waters, bike paths along the canal with views of the Leisure Boats, and massive green spaces like Angrignon Park to stop for a picnic, or to play a sport.
