Great restaurant, but don't expect to have more in quality for the price you pay . The presentation of the dishes is nothing fancy, really simple and the food is very dry. The waiter/tress should be more generous on the water. Besides these little details, I think it serve its own value and purpose, just try to manage your expectations... More

Wonderful tasting BBQ in the cool neighborhood of Verdun. Lots of shops along the row on Rue Wellington. Blackstrap BBQ has a really great menu and super cold delicious beers. I got the pulled pork sandwich and poutine (yum). My boyfriend got the brisket as a platter. Worth the trip to this great local place- take the metro to Verdun... More

My sister picked this restaurant to eat at since we go out for her birthday every year & when I first arrived - I asked her if she was sure if she wanted to eat there because the outside is less than impressive. Well that all changes once you eat the food!!! Everything is absolutely delicious. It is very plain... More

My husband and I were looking for a place to have a nice dinner, not expensive. We were flabbergasted by Blackstrap BBQ, it's SOOO good! We didn't know what to order and the server helped us choose. The food was delicious! The deep fried mac and cheese was incredible! Make sure to leave room for the deep fried apple pie,... More

This is one of the few places in montreal that knows how to smoke meat the right way. They have their own smoker on site. Small place with a country feel. Highly recommend Le Gros which is a large platter for 2 or 3 people with ribs, chicken, pulled pork, brisket, fries, beans and greens. Everything was outstanding. Very highly... More

While Blackstrap BBQ has received many accolades I've always tended to find this restaurant a bit over-hyped and expensive for the usually over-dry ribs and so-so sides. There are better choices.

Awesome burnt ends poutine in Montreal! Forget the pub ambiance and the decoration and go there try it during lunch hours. I don't know the place on evenings but for lunch, staff is very kind and the whole experience is good.

I went there with some friends and ordered the chicken with fries and coleslaw. My chicken was a bit on the dry side and crying out for some sauce. Luckily, their sweet BBQ sauce is quite nice. The fries were delicious. I also tried the fried mac and cheese. It has a nice crunchy crust, but the Mac and cheese... More
