Went there with my husband and we ordered almost all the appetizers except the oysters and onion rings. Portions were small vs previous places we went. They were tasting menu size although they claimed "generous portions" when we ordered 4 principal meals, so we cut to 3 after the waitress told us it was too much. We ended up ordering... More

Every time, I am surprised at how much the food tastes so different than anywhere else, and a pleasure for the palate. Yes, it is expensive, but it is really worthwhile if you are looking for exceptional food. The menu is presented as cold and warm tapas, but don't think that these have anything to do with your usual tapas.... More

We tasted most everything on the menu and loved everything but the octopus which was just OK. The oysters and scallops were divine, braised beef and duck very tasty. The portions were perfect for sharing. We ate tapas style. Service was excellent.

Clever menu presentation, friendly service, nice interior, and beautifully plated food. Food was flavorful and unique. I plan to return when I come back to the city.

I gave my mother a gift voucher to Le Filet, last Christmas. She just called to let me know she and her friend had dinner there this week, and it was delight after delight. Thank you for making my sweet wee mum's dinner so special! Thoroughly recommend Le Filet for its food, attention to detail and customer service.

We sometimes forget about the finer things in life. I had been for the first time, to this fine establishment, in May. I noticed its # 1 on Trip Advisor currently. Yes sometimes, reviews are not accurate. Not the case here. However this restaurant will bring you to a level of pure satisfaction. All dishes are very well presented &... More

Found this place on TripAdvisor. It is everything you read about. Service was great, dinner was absolutely delicious, wine list was incredible. Staff spoke English, and was very friendly. Perfect for a nice evening out. The duck was amazing!

After going to more than my fair share of restaurants, I started to wonder if I had become too blasé - nothing seemed to impress me anymore. Enter Le Filet. I have no idea why my husband and I had waited so long to try Le Filet. But try it finally, we did. And now I cannot wait to go... More

After being referred here by many friends, I decided upon this restaurant for a Saturday evening dinner. The first thing I noticed about this place was the atmosphere. Really great interior, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. Such a warm vibe. The food was amazing. Delicious flavours and inspiring combinations. I savoured every bite. Hope to come back one... More

Five dishes, five hits. The fluke and the hamachi to start, both shashimi-style, were very different from each other (fluke a bit subtler with the plumb sauce, hamachi more in your face with the sesame seeds) but both were excellent. For mains, we had the risotto with scampi, the squid ink linguini and the scallops with squash ravioli. All were... More

Staying in Parc du Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Parc du Mont-Royal
Montreal was named for this hilly highland, where the tallest spot in the city overlooks its most extensive parkland. The greenspace of Parc du Mont-Royal is an outdoorsman's dream, with hiking trails and nature walks that cater to every season and level of athlete. In the winter, cross-country skiers, tobogganers, and ice skaters don their equipment by Beaver Lake and its pavilion, while the warmer months bring families and competitors to the pitches of Jeanne-Mance Park for tennis, soccer, football, baseball, volleyball, or a dip in the community pool. A perfect spot for a stroll or a picnic, the forest foliage is dotted with sculpture art and offers views of some of Mont-Royal's oldest edifices, the towering St. Joseph's Oratory and the mausoleums of Notre-Dame-des-Neiges. Home to musical celebrations and twilight snowshoeing alike, visit here to walk, write, rest, think, or just be.
