Our group of 7 (on a tour) wandered into Quattro and were immediately seated. The manager was extremely friendly and shared insights about upcoming events in the city. While our food took a bit longer than we would have liked, it was done to perfection. Fine selection of wines by the glass and bottle. The wait staff was attentive and... More

I've been to Quattro several times and it is one of the best Italian restaurants in Montreal. Considering Montreal is only second to New York City for best Italian, that's saying something. The owners are there and make you feel like family. Please practice your Italian with them and if not, they are eager to serve and to please. As... More

Dined here recently with friends. Very good authentic Italian food. Really enjoyed the Spaghetti Putansca and the Caesar Salad. My wife had the seafood linguini which she said was good but a little dry.

It was our first night in Montreal and went to this restaurant on the recommendation of the concierge at our hotel. My mom needs to eat gluten free and they had an abundance of choices for her. The food and atmosphere were both excellent! We went a little early and the staff was so warm, accommodating....and funny! Highly recommended!

We were recommended this restaurant by the concierge at the W Hotel. It's in Old Montreal, and honestly, we looked at the menu and reviews and thought "it's not high enough on the list." Now I can say that it truly is NOT high enough on the list! It needs more votes! We were in on a Monday evening, our... More

On arrival was offered a G F brioche. Fantastic. Owner's daughter is a coeliac and they know how important it is having to stay on the diet. HAd a... More

Went to this restaurant with two adults and three children aged 8.11, and 13. They were very responsive to dietary concerns and even changed a menu item to accommodate our youngest who can be a picky eater. We have two family members with dietary restrictions and they were very flexible with the menu items to serve us a beautiful and... More

We stopped in last night & were immediately & warmly greeted. In fact, every person working at this restaurant was friendly and prompt. However, the food was a disappointment. Every dish was so-so, at best. Too bad. The people were great.

I was looking to have a good Italian dinner with my family and we found Quattro to be recommended on TripAdvisor and other similar websites. We entered and the fantastic experience began. We were courteously shown to our table and were given a wide choice for drinks. Being a vegetarian, the owner of the restaurant gave us so many vegetarian... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
