Stopped in by accident for an early wine before going to another restaurant. We were treated to a small appetizer and immediately knew we needed to have dinner there. My wife had Quail and I had Rabbit. The best I ever had! Even out did New Orleans. So impressed with the chefs cooking I had to meet him and gave... More

Went with a group of friends for lunch. The restaurant was almost fully booked, which is always reassuring. The lunch menu was interesting and well priced. However, my salmon tartare was lacking in flavour and the pieces were too large. Overall it was okay, but not great. It was difficult to find parking as the restaurant is located on Le... More

I'm so glad we discovered this gem of a restaurant nestled in on an otherwise residential street in the Plateau. The service was amazing. Our waitress provided an intricately detailed description of each item on the menu. Our soup entrees were lovely, and our mains amazing. Lunch was a steal, with entree, main, coffee and dessert for less than $30... More

The restaurant was elegantly put together while not appearing to be pretentious. Reservation was respected, waitstaff was professional, knowledgeable and polite. The food was interesting, well prepared, fresh and flavorful. I would return to enjoy other menu items not selected.

Good place for meant friends and sharing a bottle of your own wine. Food was good and high quality. Preparations were fairly bland and ordinary. The cod was a little dry as was the rabbit. I would try them again. Maybe earlier in the evening.

Let's start with the server, she was amazing - attentive, knowledgeable, charismatic and I loved the sound of her voice. One of those servers you just can't wait to tip because she cares so much about us having a great experience. Next - the food. We started with oysters, so fresh, so good just amazing. The foie gras, the soup,... More

I’ve reviewed Quartier General before, but would like to just update my enthusiasm for one of the best restaurants in Montreal. Nothing here is ordinary, and it is all affordable. Do yourself a favor, bring some wine and get the table d’hote. On our last visit, the soup was a lovely light opener, perfect for a hot August day, the... More

We dined here several years ago. At that time we were not impressed. After hearing all the accolades they receive, we decided to try again. We were four and tried a good cross section of the offerings that evening. As starters, we had the pork cheeks, tuna tataki amd the gravlox. The pork was dry, so was the seared (very... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
