My experience at Chez ma grosse truie chérie left me with mixed feelings. The décor is nice and the food tasted good. The service was diligent, but I could have gone without being offered all the extras from the menu multiple times. I had a squash soup with pieces of bacon and a homemade BBQ chip the taste of which... More

It's one of my best place to go for a supper with friends! Everything is excellent, especially in the summer when the terrace is open! Of course, this is not the best place for a vegetarian, but if you love meat, then just go! The ribs are simply delicious, and trust me it's not the only good meal. The service... More

This place makes amazing food. Really delicious comfort food that really hits the spot. Les joues are to die for. I can't wait to go back. The staff is great as well.

We held a retirement party there and were not disappointed. They offer a nice terrasse and a good menu. The food was better than I anticipates but service was a little long maybe because if our group size. In summary, a nice surprise for this area in Montreal where good places to eat are rare.

We had dinner and it was amazing. Caroline provided exceptional service throughout the evening. We had the beef tartar and onion soup as entrees. Main dishes were the Ribs and Risotto. Its a little pricey but well worth the experience. We will be back, thats for sure!!

Our dinner was excellent. Both dishes (ribs and pork cheek) are well executed and full of flavors. Wine was good too. Service was absolutely among the best - warm but discreet, correct amount of humour and interaction, on-point recommendations.

Very large restaurant with an excellent menu serving mostly French food and not only pork. Try to get a place on the terasse.

Unrepentant carnivore? Looking to seriously overindulge in porky goodness? Then my advice would be to skip the over-hyped Au Pied de Cochon (which I reviewed in February) and pay a visit to Chez Ma Grosse Truie Chérie. Randomly tossing expensive ingredients at pork strikes me as a cynical approach; it’s much better to let the versatility of our curly-tailed friends... More

We visited here on Wednesday night as a group of four and were seated in the garden area outside at the back of the restaurant. The service was very efficient and helpful and we received our first round of cocktails quickly. The drinks had been expertly created with a lot of care. Our food was delicious, I had the mussels... Neighborhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighborhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
