lovely meal last week, my daughter age 11 had the steak and frites and cleared her plate praising the steak. I had the fillet mignon which was divine, melt in the mouth. Hubby had the cod which he said was just as nice. we enjoyed the covered al fresco dining after a day of rain in montreal. Highly recommended.

Excellent meat. One of the best found in Montreal. A bit expensive but with high quality/price ratio. The outside space could be exploited better.

Good ambiance inside and out. Good food specializing in Alberta beef, but I had the Quebec raised Bision and it was excellent. Good wait staff, patio was nice to sit out in a warm evening.

In December it's cold in Montreal, we had the change to have a table next to the fire place, with a glass of wine, a salad and a great steak what's best? Later on a creme brûlée very good prepared, all at a very good price, recommended

Went with a group of about 20 so only got to pick from a limited menu. Had the steak, which was very good. Salad with goat cheese was fine but not that interesting. Desserts were standard. Service pretty good for a private room. Wine was good but didn't get a chance to choose from the wine list (or order from... More

I’m no fan of chain restaurants, but I’d much rather have gone to The Keg than this place. Service was slow — it took us an eternity to be initially served even though the restaurant was quite empty. Food was simply average, nothing special, nothing stood out at all. Meh.

So glad we researched and selected this place ahead of time so we made a point to go there. Particularly appreciated the "table d'hote" meal which was a 3-course lunch from a number of selections. Excellent food, wonderful service, very good value. Couldn't have been happier -- well done!

Looking for somewhere close to my hotel and I saw this place. Had good ratings on TripAdvisor so thought I'd give it a go. Friendly welcome and seats straight away. Glass of water immediately appeared, followed by warm bread & butter. Bit of a hiatus before my order was taken but I wasn't in a hurry. I got the crab... More

This was our 4th time here at our favourite restaurant in Old Montreal this summer (so far). We have never been disappointed. From the greeting at the door to when we leave, everyone is so friendly. The meals are always perfect, the terrace is quiet (away from the street), and the service is always great. We had Steve again. Great... More

Excellent ambiance! Very good service! In a great location, good to walk to from St. Antoinne hotels. Would come here again.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
