I didn't eat the whole day and to be honest at 9 pm. When I arrived at the restaurant, I was pissed at my girlfriend for not just going to the first Portuguese restaurant we saw. Oh boy I was wrong. This food is amazing. Top notch. I recommend.

Went to Montreal for the Jazz Festival--it was terrific! We also had the opportunity to dine in some of the city's most highly rated restaurants. HOW WAS TOROLI LEFT OFF OF THIS LIST?? As former residents of Tokyo, we are VERY particular about Japanese cuisine. We asked our Japanese waitress at another top restaurant where we could find terrific Japanese... More

My husband had been wanting to try this restaurant having been very well reviewed. We decided to go on a Saturday for dinner. The restaurant itself is very small and has enough seating for less than 20 people. We were greeted by the chef who also served us. My husband choose a white wine to pair with his 5 course... More

When we arrived we were so surprised to see such a small restaurant. We were overwhelmed with the food! We both ordered the 5 course tasting menu and one dish was more spectacular than another. Everything is prepared to order and everything we ate was just delicious. They are so pleasant and wanted to do everything to please us. We... More

Food is elegant. Service is very nice. Environment is nice, especially sitting beside the window in a summer evening. Not traditional Japanese food, a kind of Japanese-French fusion food. All dishes are commonly a bit too sweat. I recommend to give a try, but personally would not go back.

Both cuisines combined perfectly definitely a 10/10! We tried the tasting menu with the duck fois gras and it made my life☄

Wow what can I say but we were blown away by this special cozy restaurant. With no more than 18 seats this is something special and the food is really a fusion of Japanese and all that is great in French cuisine. Everything was so awesome, we asked the chef to make us a special dish which he did. I... More

Toroli is a very unique little restaurant on a quiet, residential street, a short walk from the Mont-Royal Metro station. The restaurant has only 4-5 tables and it feels like you have been invited to someone's house and are sitting in their kitchen. We had the best of the few tables, right next to a window, which had been completely... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
