I visited the Restaurent with family members. I was fully satisfied. We had our table at the terrace outside. Nice, but small terrace. Food and service was good. prices were reasonable. Special offers are available for most days. Nice advantage with bring your own wine.

Bad food and horrible service, would not go back. I ordered a mushroom fettuccini and half my plate was water, it was like eating pasta out of a broth. When I asked the waiter if it was normal that it was all water and he said yes. On top of it all, he dropped our doggy bag and accidentally kicked... More

We went to L'Academie on a Tuesday night for the special on mussels announced at 12,95$ on their website. We arrived at the restaurant and the special is now at 13,95$. Two of us had the Roquefort mussels: a lot of water but almost no cream and Roquefort - if it was real Roquefort.. The two others had Madagascar mussels... More

We visited for dinner on a Sunday night. The food was okay, but nothing I would return for. The waiter was nice, but forgot several things throughout the course of the meal (drinks, napkins, silverware, refills, coffee, etc.). He was apologetic each time, but after a while it just got frustrating.

Was recommended to this restaurant. It has a varied menu with fresh items. One employee was outside to great potential customers and answer questions - very friendly. Meal was nicely done.

My mother and I just had lunch at L'Académie on Cresent and I have to say that it did not quite live up to my expectations, based on a previous visit to the one on St-Denis. I always associated L'Académie with high-en food at more reasonable prices. This time around, while the prices were indeed reasonable, the quality of the... More

This place used to be a stand bye as their duck breast was almost always really good and properly cooked (why can only the french and the chinese do duck and no one else?). But the most recent visit had me going in on their mussels and frites night and to be honest I was kinda underwhelmed. Mussels were just... More

Booked for 8pm Friday night. We were greeted warmly and introduced to our waitress Anne Marie who was really attentive. The food, soup for starters then Cajun chicken and mussels we're all well presented and delicious. Remembered the BYOB which was a real bonus as it kept the price down. Best restaurant on the Crescent in our opinion and not... More

Great value for the price and extremely attentive staff. Nice atmosphere too in a very central location. Everything was good, but it didn't knock my socks off.

A wonderful meal at a very reasonable price at L'Academie on Crescent street. The Bavette with French Fries, the Veal Scallops with Mushrooms and Pasta, the escargots with garlic sauce, the caesar salad, the mussels with fries - everything was absolutely delicious! Not to forget the best Creme Brulee I have every tasted! Warm, friendly, professional service, Many young people... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
