You don't need to be a vegetarian, a vegan or a raw food eater but only curious to check this place out! Honestly you won't be disappointed at all ( and I am truly a meat eater). All dishes are so tasty, so creative and so visually beautiful on your plate! I can only recommend the pesto lasagna and the... More

This place is very cute, with a wonderful menu - smoothies and desserts especially - if you are a chocolate lover this is the place to go as it's all dairy-free and vegan! My favorite was Cacao smoothie and Brownie. The cacao smoothie is heaven. Miso soup was also nice, the main menu is mainly raw food, so if you... More

Even if you are not vegan, you will enjoy this food. It fills you up and keeps you full for a long time. I ate around 3pm and had no need for dinner later! Also, their coffee smoothie is very good, and it keeps you awake for sure. I though I would need a "real" cup of coffee to keep... More

BEST MEAL I had in Canada during my three week stay!!! I just happened upon this place by chance, and was so delighted by the meal that I really wish I could have gone back and eaten here every day, but it was a bit far from where I was staying! Beauitful presentation of the meal, fresh and healthy products,... More

I went here quite by accident. After a long day of walking around Mont Royal I just wanted to eat and enjoy a drink. Crudessence certainly offered both. The woman behind the counter was very nice and helpful. I had a tuna wrap and a ginger smoothie. I have to say that although the wrap was well made I could... More

Voila my first experience at Crudessence and not my last! Cute little place, calm, smells good, friendly staff. Raw food made me feel a lot better after my drinking night! Next time (really soon!) I will try the desserts.

This is definitely a place to try if you like the idea of raw food. It's amazing how great they can make food like that taste. You have to keep an open mind if you are not used to eating this food. It's not for people who need meat with every meal. I had the lasagne. It was amazing. My... More

We've been to raw and vegan spots before. This small group of restos has a really interesting menu, and everything is well-made. The creator is an authority on raw-food, offers his classes and cookbooks - all worhwhile. Good food at an OK price. Service was smiling. Cleanliness was good. Most importantly, my wife likes it!

I am meat eater, but this place was very pleasant surprise. Discovery plate for appetizer and tacos as a main dish delivered a lot of flavour and great gourmet experience. And the chlorophyll waster was also awesome.

Never knew raw food could taste so good. Absolutely delicious meals. Decadent desserts. Tiny and unpretentious venue on Rachel . Check out the new more spacious one on St Viateur.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
