This was a fine place to have a warm meal and watch the snow fall outside! Ingot the fondue, and my husband got a smoked salmon bagel with French Onion soup. Both were delicious.

This was such a cozy place for dinner after a long, cold day at the Fine Arts Museum and exploring. Rum cider and mulled wine, baked vegetable soup, savory crepes and dessert fruit crepe to share--and Florian the waiter so kind and helpful. We stopped back before leaving Montreal in the morning to get some quiche for lunch on our... More

My wife and I loved it. Delicious food and great Montreal atmosphere. It's a little more expensive but totally worth it.

Wonderful lunch special between 11-2 for a soup/salad a savory crepe and the sweet crepe. Good wines. Went twice on our trip as I loved the ambiance and food.

We have had our share of so-so meals in Montreal, and on our last night in this wonderful city, we wanted a wonderful meal. We found it at Chez Suzette. This place looks small, but has three floors of seating. Our hostess/waitress was a delight and made excellent recommendations. I started with French Onion Soup, and it was flavorful and... More

On a freezing cold day over the weekend, my boyfriend and I were walking around Old Montreal and needed a break from the winter weather. We stumbled upon Chez Suzette and upon reading the menu, decided to go in and give it a try. So glad we did! We got a pitcher of sangria to share as well as two... More

On this chilly afternoon I just happened to visit and I am glad I did. The Swiss cheese fondue was lovely, abundant and so was the chocolate one. Quick and friendly staff service.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
