Descent restaurant in the heart of the gay village. One of the better ones on St. Catherine's street.

We decided to go here based on their online menu. They offered a Kobe burger with fois gras. We walked 10 blocks to get there. Much to our surprise the online menu was not remotely the same as the menu they offered. The actual menu was average, nothing terribly interesting. We ordered a cheeseburger. It was extremely greasy, dripping fat.... More

Perfectly located in the heart of the village. Great food. English menus as well. Nice patio outside. Not that expensive and therefor always full house. Can be very noisy if there are big groups, so hard to understand each other. Friendly staff and helpful. Some more than others of course.

I ordered a mimosa and enjoyed the pork pan for breakfast which was very good! My friend had the eggs benedict with French toast and he enjoyed it. The restaurant was quite busy but we got lucky and were able to eat outside on the patio which was shaded with umbrellas. The staff was friendly and service was quick so... More

While in Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix, we stopped at Le Saloon for brunch. I ordered a ham, cheese and apple crepe and my husband ordered the smoked salmon bagel. Our food was very good. Our friends, who ordered a sweet crepe and a grilled cheese, were also pleased with their meals. Glad we stopped here for brunch before... More

The place by itself is good enough and have enough space to fit groups, service was very good and quick, food presentation is very good to but taste could be better i had a cheese burger with French fries, freshness and quality are good, but it was just a regular taste it doesn't have any special taste and the size... This is a "must go" place in Montreal... The music is great and the food is simply amazing... Strongly recommend the Beef Tartar with Parmesan cheese & Truffle Oil for starter... For the main course, the Ribs are my best recommendation... Well prepared and delicious!!!

My partner and I arrived at this restaurant from a recommendation from our host, Andre, at the Sir Montcalm B&B where we were staying. He could not have made a better recommendation. The wait staff was very efficient and accommodating and most of all the selection of entrees on the menu were superb. I had the fish and chips which... More

Was recommended by friends to stop here. I am so glad we did. The place was packed, we had no reservation, (however next time I will make sure I do) We were lucky enough to get the last table for two. The place was packed, the beats pumping from a live DJ, and the atmospheric vibe in the place was... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
