Delicious croissants and chocolatines, at a lower price than other bakeries near by. But, this is just a patisserie, you'll need to go elsewhere for more bread options.

walking distance from our Airbnb, not a lot of selection when we were there, spent $20, croissant is so light, and crispy as well as tasty. i had 2 regular and one almond just for myself. the rest for the family. Quiche was sold out...and we had to wait 30 mins for the next batch. We went back 2 days later, we spent more money and got the quiche - OMG - sooooo good, make sure to have some coffee.More

We sent the boys out every morning from our VRBO to buy giant bags of plain and chocolate bagels, and the plain were better than any we have ever had ... anywhere except maybe one early morning on the streets in Saigon. One day they...surprised us with the special Kouing Amann cake. Almost too much butter and goodness. On their own, they brought back ham and cheese stuffed bagels, which they served up with eggs on top. What a breakfast. I read that their coffee isn't much. We had our very own coffee pot! Definitely recommend.More

Delicious croissants and their especially au kouing aman is heavenly. Don’t get coffee here as it was not good at all! I ordered a Cafe au Lait and it was milk with a splash of espresso and was not hot. Would definitely come here again...for the croissants!More

After a wintry hike up Mont Royal, my husband whisked us in here and ordered us the kouign-amann. It was warm, delightful, flaky and unlike anything I’ve ever eaten. If you’re eating your way through Montreal, you have to stop here.

After reading all the glowing reviews for this bakery, we made the considerable effort to drive our car to this location and pay for parking, only to find that they are closed on Mondays. This would certainly have been valuable info before we wasted our...time and money. We have no rating for the bakery, but we feel the Trip Advisor listing was very poor.More

I will keep it simple short : this is a town that loves hockey and only speaks in terms of trio. So the 3 classics in Montreal are bagels (Fairmount), smoked meat (Schwartz) and the kouigh-amann (here). For years, they were located 2 doors down...but a recent move in this local makes it even better because they don’t run of the kouigh like before (they were always short). So relax, enjoy, you found the place, for $2.50 you can have a slice of heaven and yes, of course it’s better than in France, you’re in Montreal, it’s the best of both continents.More

Do not leave Montreal without stopping here! Best pastries I've had in my life and the Kouign Amann is especially sweet and special. I reco that you bring a few croissants home if you aren't local and enjoy them lightly warmed in the oven the...day after.More

There is a bit of a line. Not too bad considering it’s reputation. But still, this is a small space for the many people waiting to order. I am nervous about the upcoming transaction. What should I order? Can I even pronounce it? I don’t...see the kouign-amann. Have they run out already? I would not be surprised. It's a Saturday. More and more people are cueing up, waiting for orders, and standing everywhere. There are only 3 tables in this small shop. I think I want one. I’d like to stay and eat my treat here. I think I should have quiche for breakfast with cafe au lait. But Shouldn’t I try that croissant fromage? Everything is tempting me. It’s my turn to order. I ask if there are any more kouign-amann. They keep bringing the beautiful pastry warm from the oven, I just didn’t recognize it. It looks different from the delicious ones I’ve had in the States. I fell in love with them at B Bistro in Miami when an incredible French pastry chef came to Miami and opened up this bakery in Brickell. I feel so lucky and happy to be able to try one here. It is supposed to be superb. The staff clear off a table for me and just in time because there is a rush at noon. I now have a plate with a slice of quiche, a cheese croissant and a slice of kouign-amann in front of me, along with my coffee. I wanted to try everything and take the leftovers with me. The couple sitting next to me have just taken their first bite of kouign-amann and they look as though they are sharing a perfectly timed orgasm, albeit quietly, as if a joint secret. I am actually a bit uncomfortable. And surely it can’t be that good. I try the quiche. Very good. I try the croissant, good. I have a sip of cafe au lait to prepare myself for the kouign-amann. Ok, here I go...OMG, I try to contain myself. After all, it would be highly inappropriate to have an orgasm by myself...in public... But I just did. Next time, maybe I should share it with my husband. I will look forward to that.More

My son, who is studying in Montreal, recommended this patisserie. What a find! Enjoy buttery croissants, whether studded with almonds, filled with chocolate, or split and layered with slices of ham and cheese with a fine drizzle of bechamel (pretty much a croissant croque monsieur)....My husband also enjoyed the quiche. We did not try the signature pastry for which the shop is named, but will on future visits, of which there will be many. Coffee was delicious as well. The place is often packed and there are only three small tables. The young man who served us was very sweet and accommodating. In a city with many fine patisseries and boulangeries, Kouign Amann is a standout.More
