We were a small group of 6 out for supper to celebrate my niece's birthday. She and her boyfriend had been there before and liked it so we decided to give it a try (afterall it was her birthday so we had her choose the restaurant). We wanted to try a bit of everything therefore decided to try the various... More

Booked for dinner for our weekend get away. Loved the BYOD option. Ordered lamb shank, confit duck, decent quality, a bit salty, like most of restaurant food, the patato soup was nice, light and smooth. Definitely not fine dining, but value for money.

Dear ZZ, thank you for your honest review. Honesty is the best policy and I do understand your concern about the salt content. Sugar and salt content is something that we're really concerned about and my chef is very adamant about reducing it in cooking. Thank you for bringing this up, it's the best way to improve. Cordially, Herman the... More

We were a group of ten last Friday at Le Bitoque, a "bring your own wine" restaurant in St-Henri, just down the hill from Westmount and near the Atwater Market. It has been open since two years but we just learned from our friends how good it is. Excellent food, curteous service, reasonable prices. Upscale decoration completes your dining experience.

Was surprised for my Birthday at this restaurant! I want to start with the excellent service we had (25 p.p.). My friends were overwhelmed by the service and the food. We had 3 choices due to party and I had the Chicken Piri Piri ( yummy) and my husband had the Lamb (delicious!!) my friend a vegetarian paella which she... More

On the spur of the moment we joined two other couples for dinner at Bitoque. The restaurant is very well laid out and the seating accommodation are comfortable. This restaurant is very busy but the service is excellent. Tapas menu is varied but we only selected the grilled calamari. It came with a lemoni mayonnaise which was very tasty. Our... More

Food was good, but it just came out of the kitchen too slow. I understand taking your time and enjoying the company of your friends and family over a nice bottle of wine (BYOW) and good food, but after 3 hours I just wanted to leave...

Went with group, fixed menu. Lamb shank was special. Presented with panache. Wine was supplied by us making cost much more comfortable. Will definitely return with family to try more of the selections.

Have been at Biotoque twice. Food was delicious and service great too. This is a BYOW and therefore makes a great meal more affordable. Streaks and fish are both great.

I've been to Bitoque a few of times and I've always enjoyed my food. They have a large selection of items on their menu so it's easy to select something that you may like. Large restaurant so they can accommodate large groups. Great place for hosting receptions with their rooms downstairs.

Great dinner! Lovely authentic dishes. The Lamb Shank was incredible and the custard desert was just spectacular. Very highly recommended, especially being a bring your own wine.

Staying in Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)

Neighborhood Profile
Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)
Once the core of industrialized Montreal, the factories and historic buildings of Le Sud-Ouest have been renovated into homes, museums, and small businesses. The rejuvenated landscape has put its Saint-Henri district in vogue, with cutting-edge galleries and an ever-expanding network of restaurants. Foodies can especially delight in the mom-and-pop shops in Little Burgundy, or at the Atwater Market, where outdoor stalls sell fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat, street vendors have menus of hot fish and wine, and the indoor market offers chocolate, breads, and coffee beans. Dominated by the gentle waters of the Lachine Canal, Le Sud-Ouest is still very much an outdoor town, with a number of pedestrian-only bridges traversing the waters, bike paths along the canal with views of the Leisure Boats, and massive green spaces like Angrignon Park to stop for a picnic, or to play a sport.
