We were only in town for one night visiting clients, so we had to do some French food in Montreal of course. Le Local didn't disappoint at all. Started the meal with a nice beef tartare and then transitioned into a steak... all the beef! Was a little too hot for us to sit outside, but it looked beautiful. We... More

We started with a salmon tartare and the salmon was extremely fresh and flavorful. The light dressing was just perfect. I had a duck breast special and it was beautifully cooked but a little under seasoned for me. It came with a house made succotash that was still crunchy which I loved and a cauliflower purée which had little flavor.... More

This was a nice little restaurant on the edge of Vieux Montreal. They have an extensive menu and wine list, and a beautiful little patio. The food was very good, but not exceptional.

Attended our nephew's wedding there and can only compliment the restaurant on their amazing staff they were so polite and acccommodating. There were over 200 people there and they managed every detail with such finesse. The food was wonderful and the outdoor/indoor adds a really nice atmosphere. It is located in another section of Old Montreal called "Griffin Town" .... More

Ate here with a group one evening in late May. It was a party of 14, we had reservations, they didn't seem especially busy, and they appeared to have adequate staff. We waited ages for water and beverage service, ages to place our orders, ages for our meals to arrive, ages to get our bills at the end. We were... More

Nice decor and that's about it....... The hotel concierge recommended this restaurant to us. Do you think $28 for Ravioli is worth the price? This is what my husband had and it gave him a severe heart burn the whole night. Maybe it's the thick heavy sauce? Don't know and don't want to try this again. I had the Dos... More

Delicious, well-thought out dining with a fantastic ambience and parking right across the street ($$). Service is quick, the drinks are phenomenal and the food will leave a lasting impression.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
