Nice neighbourhood restaurant, cosy and friendly interior that extends to a sidewalk terrasse in the summer. Food is above average - they have their specialties and do very well with them. Spaghetti Bolognese was excellent – flavour depth of the sauce made this dish sing. Cream of butternut squash soup (of the day) had the flavour but a bit thick... More

This restaurant is a great local Italian place - there are many regulars and the waiters recognize you when you come in. It has a nice ambience and the terrace outside during the summer is really nice with lovely plants and tables set with tablecloths. Service is friendly and fast and the wait staff is very accommodating. The food is... More

My food group went to Vago last night. I had a good Bloody Caesar and an excellent minestrone soup. I took the spaghetti bolognaise based on asking the waiter which he'd recomments of a couple of dishes and this was it. He said it's different because they use 3 kinds of meat. It did not live up to his accolades... More

We were taken to Vago five years ago and had an enjoyable meal and evening. On our trip to Montreal in March 2016 we again had dinner at Vago. This is a great restaurant to spend an evening with friends. The food is good, the prices are reasonable and the wait staff are attentive and courteous.

I really like dining here. The food is scrumptious and the service is excellent. The restaurant is charming and it feels like one is dining rather than just eating. I love the pasta dishes here as well.

We had our department Christmas lunch here and all 8 of us enjoyed our meals - that's saying something for this particularly picky bunch. Several of us had the leek soup, others had minestrone - all mopped it up with the yummy bread to get every last drop. I had the mediterranean salad and loved it. Very fresh, great ratio... More

We were here recently for a birthday party. The food and service were both very good. We had some appetizers for the table including grilled octopus, fried calamari sausage & peppers and oysters Rockefeller. As a main course, I had the linguni pescatore which I would also recommend. Unfortunately, I was so full, I had no room for dessert.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
