Clean service, very professional. The food was excellent, very tasty and generous. We had a really great night there. We went with my family of 6. And we had a great time. We also loved the concept of using as much as possible local products...More

I have never tried south african cousine and was very curious to taste something different. What a success! Small cosy restaurant with a nice atmosphere and a good service with so special food. We also loved the wine from South Africa. The oxtail and the...More

We were so excited to find Le Virunga. My husband is from South Africa--and the flavors took him back. Yet everything had the flair of Montreal: The shrimp, the fish, and the oxtail were seasoned beautifully. The ice cream was the perfect finish. Service and...More

Having visited Africa extensively and being a huge fan of Mauritian cuisine, Virunga brought back an abondance of gastro memories and very good ones. The wine list is excellent and the laid back atmosphere a joy.

Ordered the curry shrimps for a starter, that was very tasty and the balance between tastes and spices was perfect. Then took the trout with cashew crust, a very interesting dish. Make sure you get the white wine reduced sauce which adds a kick to...More

This restaurant is a gem. It is next to impossible to find traditional Central and West African food in many cities, let alone in a fine dining setting. The cuisine had incredible flavors, and the service was friendly and perfectly timed. We ordered a take...More

The young lady who waited on us was friendly and translated everything, slowly and clearly into English for our non French speaking friend who is vegetarian. The food is not traditional African from any region but an African fusion. The results are not always what...More
