We could not get reservations at Joe Beef, no problem, we managed to get in next door at the owners other restaurant Liverpool House, kind of the party girl little sister of Joe Beef. I am not sure even where to start, the people were friendly and welcoming, the food was amazing, the atmosphere was fun, the drinks perfectly mixed,... More

After a quick business retreat, my business partner and I and our assistant enjoyed a fantastic dining experience at Liverpool House - a sister restaurant to the ever popular Joe Beef restaurant which is next door on Notre Dame. We booked an early seating dinner at 6:30 in late July and got the last available table this particular Saturday night.... More

Our concierge was only able to get us two seats at the bar 2 weeks in advance. Turned out we liked that because of meeting people at bar and talking with bartender. Roasted duck, tomato salad, lobster perogie, and peach pie were superb.

Not cheap by any means, but a couple of dishes were truly spectacular. The much lauded lobster spaghetti was all it was cracked up to be... It better have been to justify the price ($50+). Same goes for the foie gras breakfast sandwich, SINFULLY good. Great service, until the end, it took us forever to get the check and get... More

Casual laid back bistro atmosphere. Food and wines sensational! This is the little sister of Joe Beef but I am not sure that the quality is any less. We had Carmella as our server and she was delightful. Wife had the tomato tarte and she says the best thing she has ever eaten! This was followed by the lobster spaghetti... More

Ate here for my 20th wedding anniversary with my wife and 2 boys. Originally wanted to eat at Joebeef, but we couldn't get a reservation. Our hotel (Sheraton) secured the table for us at 530 on the patio (don't take reservation at that time during the warm months b/c the direct sun in your eyes and the bugs). We knew... More

Finally secured a reservation at Liverpool House after not being able to find anything at the sister restaurant Joe Beef .The food lived up to the hype .Started with a summer salad which was incredibly light and tasty . Also had the famous lobster pasta .The pasta was really rich and came with huge chunks of lobster .The lobster has... More

I was in Montreal for one night recently and was fortunate enough to nab a table at Liverpool House. From the moment you enter the restaurant you feel at home. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The menu is in french but they do have english translations and our waitress was extremely helpful in explaining the different dishes and... More

Staying in Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)

Neighborhood Profile
Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)
Once the core of industrialized Montreal, the factories and historic buildings of Le Sud-Ouest have been renovated into homes, museums, and small businesses. The rejuvenated landscape has put its Saint-Henri district in vogue, with cutting-edge galleries and an ever-expanding network of restaurants. Foodies can especially delight in the mom-and-pop shops in Little Burgundy, or at the Atwater Market, where outdoor stalls sell fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat, street vendors have menus of hot fish and wine, and the indoor market offers chocolate, breads, and coffee beans. Dominated by the gentle waters of the Lachine Canal, Le Sud-Ouest is still very much an outdoor town, with a number of pedestrian-only bridges traversing the waters, bike paths along the canal with views of the Leisure Boats, and massive green spaces like Angrignon Park to stop for a picnic, or to play a sport.
