after hours of walking we decided we wanted to try it based on recommendation from a friend. My brother and I had the big healthy salad with chicken, OMG that was delicious and I couldn't finish it because it was so big, also I got a brownie but was so full couldn't even eat it until the next day, it... On recommendation, we trekked some distance to join the queue at Olive et Gourmando for a late breakfast. It was well worth it . The service was excellent and the fresh fruit option was a perfect option to the vast range of delicious croissants and pastries.

You can see why this place is so popular with tourists and locals. All the good we had was delicious. Fun atmosphere very busy and crowded but with shared tables you are bound to have a conversation with some one new because the place is full at mela time. Be prepared to wait, but we gave our mobile number and... More

Cool little place serving good salads and sandwiches. Very different styles of them. Super busy for lunch starting at 10 in old Montreal. Get ready for a long line and wait. But once seated you're satisfied.

The place is located in Old Montreal, very nice and cozy! I had the sandwich called The Cubain which is basically a grilled panini with roasted pork, raw milk gruyere, cilantro and other stuff. It was easily one of the best grilled panini I have ever tried. It was supposed to be a quick stop so we didn't get to... More

We had the egg and cheese entree for breakfast- it was good but not worth the $$ . On the otherhand, the maple brioche was worth it and then some. You must not wait too long each morning to buy it- they are quite popular and sell out on weekends by mid morning

Love love love this place! I went for breakfast on Saturday morning--it was packed. I only had to wait about 10-15 minutes since I was solo. I had the cappuccino, croissant and Chia Bowl. O. M. Geeee. Talk about yummy and filling! Wish I could eat there everyday! Will definitely return on my next trip to Montreal.

So I ended up at this place and tasted some really good food but aside from the food we're the following treats I had which I had to bring back for others to try. There brownies, killer cookie, gluten free cookie and a turtle bar All these were so good I couldn't imagine someone saying otherwise The turtle bar was... More

Was here a bit early after wandering around. Was nicely advised that lunch was served after 11. Returned at 11.30 to a super crowded place, with customers spilling out their doors. Wait was 45 minutes so I did a takeaway. Had the #24 and Cuban sandwich. Both were great tasting and food was prepared in about 15 minutes instead of... More

In the Old Town area. Great French style breakfast with attentive, young staff. Good way to start the day.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
