Get the Egg-On-Your-Face sandwich to start! But everything is good there - make sure to try their new sister restaurant (Foxy)!

I expected more. My bad. It was noisy and crowded with college kids and hipsters. We were elbow to elbow with the folks around us so a private conversation was impossible. The noise level was very high. the food? Well, they were all out of butter croissants at 10AM so I had a sweet roll instead with a cup of... More

Eat at Olive & Gourmando. If you love Croissants you will love them here. You may even take some home. Trust me it's that good. Don't stop at Croissants, check out the Brunch menu as there's so much more. Trust me! Go!

Extremely delicious food with good drinks. Definitely get here early if you plan to eat in there, but it is worth sitting down. Otherwise, you can also get some of their amazing baked goods to go.

If you are not in a rush, stop into Olive & Gourmando. The food is really good - and the pastries are amazing too. But the wait can be a little unpredictable. We came in on a Saturday and were told 40-50 mins, but stood there for at least 20 with open seating right in front of us. In the... More

Healthy, fresh dishes with artistic flair. Great french baked goods as well. Had a wonderful breakfast at O+G, would definitely return. Friendly wait staff, great service, great food. It was a treat.

Terrific food, friendly server. Met colleague to catch up after ten years and we stayed nearly three hours talking. No pressure to move on, great table and service. Love the atmosphere and decor. All the beautiful young people go here so one can also just sit alone and watch!

It is one of the best places for breakfast and brunch in case you work near Old Port. The menu has a list of delicious and healthy offering including vegan choice as well. Service is average. Be ready to wait for 15 -20 minutes to get a table at the brunch timings. The place is usually full with people and... More

Stumbled upon this one snowy Montreal afternoon. It was warm and cozy inside and my salad was one of the best I have ever eaten. Service was not excellent, but nowhere in Montreal is it really.... Food choices and environment win for this special old Montreal spot.

We came by chance and had a good brunch here. The food is delicious. The coffee smells good. But it was too crowded by tourists and locals so the service was too busy...

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
