My partner and I went for lunch, there was quite a line up but it went quickly and we sat at the barstool area at the back. The food is a tad pricey but worth it. We ordered: --the vegan burger $15 --mac & cheese $20 --chocolate chip pecan cookie $4 A perfect amount to share between the two of... More

This place is packed! We were lucky to find 3 places at the counter bar table in the middle of the restaurant between other people! Not much room to move. Tables are stuck one next to one another. Cozy, and very casual place for croissants, sandwich's and their famous grilled cheese with caramelized onions. I took the habibi sandwich, it... More

Love this place! Everything here is just amazing, from the sandwiches and coffees to their great salads and soups. We are big fans of their out of this world chocolate brioches and it is a tradition to bring back home at least a dozen of them !

Its a tourist trap. But Bakery section is good and food is very good. Service is excellent! Located in Old town and its a must stop for breakfast or brunch. They dont take reservations.

The hostess needs serious etiquette lessons. She was openly impolite to my family, and to two other people sitting nearby. Regardless of the food which was good, the blatantly rude service by a pretentious hostess ruined the experience. I will not return or recommend the place.

We came in for lunch. The ambiance was great, the meal was wonderful and the service was excellent. Expect a long wait but the experience is well worth it. We will definitely come back the next time we're in Montreal.

Went to this bakery based on all the great reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Liked it so much that I went there twice in the few days that I was in Montreal. The baked goods are good but what I truly enjoyed and would recommend is to get their signature paninis. That's what made me go there twice. The egg... More

Went here on the advice of a friend. This is not your typical breakfast place. There was one egg sandwich available but no other egg dishes. My husband ordered this and was quite please. I had the fruit, yogurt and granola dish and it was very fresh and tasty. Couldn't finish it all. Coffee was very good. Most people were... More

I really enjoyed Olive & Gormando. The food was great, the cappuccino excellent, the service good, the atmosphere was happy and upbeat! I had a chicken/pepperoni pizza pocket. My wife had a chicken salad sandwich with thyme. Wow! Great! My kids had grilled cheese. All meals were unique and excellent. Short of mediocre service it was a great lunch!

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
