Well worth the wait! We went for breakfast and enjoyed a great meal! The strawberry french toast was unbelievable! Be ready to sit close to your neighboring tables however, this does not take away from your overall culinary experience. Take some pastries to go when you leave for an afternoon snack.

If you don't know about this place, you should find out where it is and run there. The food is exquisite and the atmosphere warm and inviting and why not... this place was built on a love story. The owners fell in love while working at another restaurant and decided to create their own. One of them is a master... More

Fantastic coffee, very friendly staff and some of the best cafe food we ate in Montreal... came back a few times as we loved it so much... Be warned, it does get busy... but absolutely worth every minute of waiting :-) Definitely a recommend...

Line out the door lets you know good food and lots of locals. Small menu with good lunch choices, we both had different kinds of salads. Enjoyed our meal and lively atmosphere.

Located on Rue Saint Paul in Old Montreal this restaurant is well worth whatever trek you haven't take to get there. For us it was a bus and a 15 minute walk because we were in downtown. We happened to hit a very short wait for the table but expect lines, especially on the weekends. It's a popular spot. You... More

If you are visiting Montréal and decide to eat here, I must warn you. If you visit at the beginning of your trip, you'll be tempted to come here everyday and not try any other place (I would try another place and then get something to-go here for a snack). If you visit near the end of your trip, you'll... More

Waited over 90 minutes for a table for 3 on a Sunday morning (around 10am). If you are waiting on the weekend for a table for more than 2 people- go EARLY (when they open) or be prepared to wait a minimum of 90 minutes!....Also note that take out is an option (and starts to look pretty appealing once you... This is a busy place - you are likely to wait for a table. The menu is small but delicious. We tried a number of things - scones, chocolate croissant, granola and fruit and the egg in your face panini which was a delicious spicy sandwich of eggs, cheese, roasted tomatoes and prosciutto. Coffee drinks are small but very good.... More

Yes, the food here is very good. I did not get to try a lot but all items on the menu looked intriguing. The 2 of us had to wait for about 30 minutes at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. They do not take reservations.

There is a line up from pretty much the moment it opens. That's because the food is delicious and this place is by far the best lunch place in Old Montreal. The decor is quite nice. Of course, everything is very hurried and crowded and it's loud. That said, this energy will keep you pumped up for more sight seeing.... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
