While in Montreal with friends we decided to try this lovely restaurant based on trip advisor reviews. And wow were we not disappointed. The French Spanish blend was amazing. We ordered each two appetizers and each a main course as suggested by the staff and each course was to die for. Very simple elegant dishes. Amazing place. Would recommend to... More

This was one of the best dinners we've had in some time, and very French. Perfect cooking, just-right portions beautifully presented, a reasonable choice of wines by the glass (and some interesting full bottles) and friendly service. We were a bit worried when we saw just one waitress at 6 pm on a Saturday, but two others joined her shortly,... More

This was the find of the summer holiday home! Wow! We even went twice, and the second time introduced it to 2 more Montreal friends. We had such a variety of meals from the menu and everyone absolutely loved it. A few had the 5-course dégustation, which consisted of 5 smaller dishes of what you could also select à la... More

On our last night in Montreal we ate at Vertige. What a delightful surprise. It was a Tuesday so we had additional tapas to consider along with the usual menu. We were all pleases to see the recommendation on the menu that 3 starters were enough for a complete meal so 1 person got a starter and a regular enter... More

The beautifully presented dishes were all tasty. The staff were very friendly. Also, it was reasonable compared to the London or NY standard. They don't seem to have an English menu, so bring your dictionary or ask the staff if you don't speak French.

I really felt selfish and wasn't going to tip the public off to this wonderful restaurant. Located in the restaurant-rich Deluth Street area, this comfortable French restaurant might be the best bargain in Montreal. Try the Duck Truck four course dinner with a white chocolate mousse and berry desert served in a canning jar. The sous chef, Maude, showed us... More

I have to start by saying that the food is definitely worthy of 5 stars. Unfortunately, the service is not up to par with the food. We ordered the 5 course tasting menu and when the waitress would come to our table to bring the food, she just dropped it off and did not explain what it was. I have... More

This time, the meal was served in small portions and was totally delicious. The best was a risotto of cepes. However, all the other dishes were excellent. Service was outstanding. I mentioned I did not like goat cheese on one of the appetizers, and the server promptly returned with one without the cheese. I also liked to pork cheek which... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
