I come to Montreal 5 or 6 times a year. I never come when I do not eat at Le Vertige. If I come for one day only that dinner is at Vertige. If I come for longer, at least one dinner, and sometimes two are at Vertige. The name translates as Vertigo in English. Why would a restaurant be... More

They were nice but it took 20 minutes to get my appetizer order. When my entree came, they gave no cutlery. Trying to wave them down took 5-7 minutes but when you're a hungry customer wanting to eat, seems a lot longer. Wouldn't go back. I think they were short staffed. Which is surprising on a weekend night.

We were "greeted" by an unpleasant woman ( the owner ) and immediately felt unwelcome. The food was average & forgettable. Surprised at all the rave reviews. We wouldn't go back & wouldn't recommend.

I really enjoyed Vertige, the restaurant had a good atmosphere. When it comes to the food I did not enjoy the beef carpaccio as much, it was ok. I loved the duck dish it was so good I wished there was more of it. The menu had a good variety of food, good for groups. Dress code is pretty casual.... More

Excellent restaurant. The selections were suited to many tastes. All the courses were well prepared and plated beautifully. You were not rushed and had time to savor the food between courses.

We had the tapas special: 6 items per person for $29. They had a nice, varied selection which included French and Spanish items. All four of us enjoyed the food and leisurely pace.

Keen to find French food with a twist. Vertige had that. They also offer at the moment 6 tapas for 29 can dollars during the week. In the end we went a la carte. Similar price for starter and main. Good sweet breads and duck mains. Had 2 good sweets, the brûlée and a chocolate one. A good evening

We absolutely loved the food here, great value and lots of choice. Our only issue was the slow service. with 1 person serving all of the tables it made everything a little bit slower. Overall we enjoyed our night and would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good value for money and excellent food

While in Montreal with friends we decided to try this lovely restaurant based on trip advisor reviews. And wow were we not disappointed. The French Spanish blend was amazing. We ordered each two appetizers and each a main course as suggested by the staff and each course was to die for. Very simple elegant dishes. Amazing place. Would recommend to... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
