I came here for dinner with my two friends in September. In fact, we drive from Sydney to P.E.I. for a trip that day. The service and food are very good. The pizza we ordered was so crispy that I ordered one more to eat. The waitress was energetic and talkable. We could see how the chef cook through the window. In addition, the price of the meal is fair. However, there were two slight problems we met. First, there were too many people eat here and we had to wait for about 30 mins to get a seat (we were starving at that time). I hope next time there will be more extra seats for customers. Second, the live music sounds good. However, the music was too loud. I even cannot hear what my friends said during the food. I hope the music can be lower next time. By the way, it is a pretty good experience to have a meal here. I will come here again if possible.

New favourite appetizer

Wednesday night and since we hadn't made reservations, we sat at the bar. We were pleasantly surprised to see their menu included items we hadn't noticed on line. They have a nice special (4 to 6) which gets you a drink and a small side for $10. Our go to appetizer was always the meatballs but now we've discovered the mozzarella prosciutto-wrapped ball in sauce. So delicious. We shared the appetizer, one of their delicious salads and a pizza. No room for dessert. Service at the bar (Tyler) was excellent and the manager stopped by a few times to check everything was as it should be. Another ***** star evening.

Stopped in once again to enjoy the foods we love. Limited menu so while the meatball appetizer was on on the menu, the mozzarella wrapped balls were not (victim of Covid cutbacks). Order their charcuterie board of selected meats, cheese and olives which was presented on top of their delicious bread. Shared pizza to follow and, once again, no room for dessert. Service was excellent, not many staff but we did not wait to be served or for our food (thanks Jessie). Piatto has a nice selection of wines by the glass including some finer wines (also by the glass). Various sizes also available. We arrived early (5ish) and they were quite busy the entire time we were there. Masks required but vaccine passes not required.

The food at Piatto is always good (spaghetti and meatballs notwithstanding) but unfortunately this location needs a little bit of work to match the Halifax location in a few areas. When you only have three pasta options, when one isn’t available and another is spicy, you aren’t leaving any real options and sadly that’s what one in our party had to have which she found lacking much flavour. We ordered an appetizer but it never arrived but when the mains arrived our server said it “would be out soon”. A little work in that area is needed as clearly the apps come out first. The loud banging of the pizza paddle on the counter was headache inducing and was unnecessary as it eventually stopped with a staff change. The manager did check on us (and a few others) and apologized and without any prompting from us, recognized the issues and made adjustments to the bill. She was clearly doing her best. If you have been to one of the other locations, the difference in this one may be alarming. The pizza is worth it for sure and no doubt they will work out the bugs but on a busy summer day it was not what we expected.

We were visiting Charlottetown last week and decided to stop by Piatto for dinner. We were told that my family of 4 could be seated but that we needed to be finished our meal by 7:30 pm as the table had been reserved. We were fine with that seeing as it was just 6:00 pm. We were seated immediately, however, no table server welcomed us or even brought us a glass of water for almost 15 minutes. I was about to walk out when she finally showed up. The food came in a timely manner but they burned my husband's pizza so by the time it came, the rest of us were done eating. The pizza was okay - nothing great. It had runny sauce and I think by that point I was done with the place. We won't ever be back to eat there. Never been treated this badly at a restaurant. Maybe the servers should consider service instead of standing around chatting with each other.

Stopped in for a late lunch, early supper and specifically to try their new pizza partnership with Maritime Madness hot sauces. We had visited the Maritime Madness shop on the waterfront front earlier. Two new pizzas with MM sauces- one has garlic sauce and the other an extremely hot Carolina reaper sauce. We ordered the garlic version (lots of meat and their famous tomato sauce). We are chili heads but avoided the Ultimate version. Be warned!!!!! We shared the pizza as well as two appetizers, the meatballs and the mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto. Both excellent. Also had a flight of wine (one white and two reds). Excellent service and quite the surprised when we were given a second pizza because they didn't like the way the crust turned out on the first! Thank you!!

Good pizza (that arrived half-way through the starter)

Had an excellent pizza at this large restaurant in downtown Charlottetown. The starter was great too - a large platter of Italian meats & cheeses etc to share between the two of us. And here the story starts... We were some way though the starter when suddenly the pizzas arrived. When the waitress realised we weren't done yet, she offered to take them back, but I had visions of them keeping it warm till we were ready or worse, a long wait till they could remake them again. We'd watched as an elderly couple tried to pacify their clearly very hungry young grandson with a long wait for their meal. That turned out to be due to two large take-out orders which got picked up, after which the restaurant backlog cleared shortly after. I suspected the kitchen was struggling to cope with in-house and take-out orders and the staff weren't keeping them up to date with priorities. Shame because in all other respects (food & service) this was very good. I understand restaurants that offer take-out struggle with a sudden influx in orders - especially when places offer delivery within a certain time. But it doesn't help their in-house diners who are waiting patiently for their meals. Not sure what the answer is, but I'm sure we've all seem it and it can be most frustrating! Rant over ;) Anyway, worth a visit but be aware of potential delays.

Excellent food, incredibly terrible service

Just came from eating at Piatto Pizzaria in Charlottetown November 27/2020 ,, don't believe I've ever posted a review before,, but felt i had to. The food was excellent, but the waitress Nicole was absolutely terrible, half an hour just to get water (had to ask for it twice)got our drinks quickly ,but then seemed to be forgotten. Got our apps, (delicious) i recieved mh main course Panzarotti, great ,, i finished mine while the whole time my wifes salad sat on the counter, passed over by all wait staff numerous times.. we were never asked about the food by anyone , dirty dishes still on the table , until I'm guessing the manager noticed the empty plates & asked us how things were, SAD, he did comp our meal. Good on him.. Too bad we had this experience because the food was excellent. Note// rating was only because of the non service,

Another wonderful meal at Piatto. Busy Saturday night so we chose to sit at the bar which was perfect for conversation. We were fortunate to have Aaron as our waiter as well. He was able to provide advice on our wine selection and didn't rush our appetizers. Everything was well timed. We eat here often and have our favourite foods but Aaron raised the bar experience wise. Our usual orders include the pacchi de prosciutto, the meatball appetizer and a shared pizza. For a change we decided to order dessert. The limoncello tart was perfect-light and deliously tart.

Just didn't cut it.

Really, it's not much more than a typical pizza shop. Guess it started with making reservations and then being placed at perhaps the worst table in the house. Many walkin were placed at better table. Pizza was ok, however I had the spaghetti with meatballs and it was average to below at best. Meatballs were hard and sauce was bland. Service was mediocre and the chatter from the kitchen, yes they placed us right next to it, was annoying. Won't return here or to any other of the chain.

What a find! the restaurant is on the main street in downtown Charlottetown. The service was excellent and the food very good. Pizzas and salad, local beer and imported wine kept us happy. The walls of this old building were amazing.

Authentic Neapolitan pizza experience

This restaurant provides a great oportunity to sit down and enjoy an authentic Neapolitan pizza in a well-appointed building. The staff are very friendly and offer great suggestions. The pizzas were excellent and the service efficient.

Excellent restaurant in downtown Charlottetown

Went there for lunch. Took advantage of the lunch special. 9” pizza and lunch size salad for $17 (CAD). You had your choice of any of the pizzas and salads on the menu (only smaller). Excellent value for money. The Caesar salad was the best I have had in a long time. My husband had the Barbabietola Arrostita salad. I had the Sicilian’s pizza and my husband had the Diavolo. Both were excellent. The crust was light. The toppings were very fresh. The server was personable and attentive. Would definitely recommend and would love to see them expand to the GTA.

Excellent food, excellent service. We went for the burger they were offering for the Burger Love promotion but unfortunately it was so good that they had sold out by the time we got there. So we “settled” for the traditional pizza menu and both of our choices were outstanding. Service also great with much apology about the burger not being available and good communication about the status of our pizza order. Highly recommend!

Went here a few years back on a previous visit to Charlottetown and was very impressed at the time. Our nostalgic visit was not so good. My pizza was less than average, stoggy with a heap of pepperoni in the middle, and my partner was served the wrong dish. Service was ok, but nothing special. May just have been a bad night.
