Casa Mia Café serves well-prepared food for breakfast, lunch and supper in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We're located in the heart of Charlottetown, near major attractions and hotels. We're proud to serve Milano coffee, roasted in Canada: the Milano taste was developed from a century of artisanship in the Italian coffee tradition. And be sure to try our house-made desserts!
Had a fantastic lunch experience at casa Mia today! Best service ever at Casa Mia with our server Duquette, she was so efficient and attentive to every need! She is the reason we will go back again soon! We’ve had previous not so great experiences...with Casa Mia but this experience with Duquette was beyond our expectations! Good job management finding this gem of a server and totally upping your game! Ps the meal was awesome too but the service was outstanding!More
Planned to dine at the Lobster Barn which was listed as open in Google, arrived and found out it was closed, so we decided to have lunch in a next door Casa Mia restaurant. It was the worst dining experience I had in years. Ordered...arugula salad and seafood chowder. The arugula salad has 3 arugula leaves for the whole salad dish (no kidding!), the rest being spinach, and the dressing tasted like engine oil. The chowder would have been ok if the waitress had not dipped her fingers in it first, then spilled it on the table, then ran away and nobody cared to wipe away the spill.More
Hello, recently went for a friends birthday brunch. Our reservation was seated. We waited 30 minutes for our Americanos and lattes , they waited so long on the bar we had to get the owner to check and all along they weren’t sitting and we’re...cold when we received them. We then had to wait over an hour for our food, had to get our server nahed to check twice. She didn’t once offer to refill our coffees or drinks, she didn’t offer us dessert when we went for for a friends birthday. The food for brunch was also below mediocre. None of our eggs were done properly. The sausage is a hot dog cut in half. After waiting over 90 minutes for 5 people’s eggs and toast I will never return to this establishment. Long waits, bad service, and owner Gina did nothing.More
We had a very good breakfast experience at Casa Mia. Extensive gluten free choices makes it celiac friendly with loads of flavour left in the dishes. The beans are really good and their special potatoes with the maple butter are very tasty. The service was...a bit slow but I'm not sure if that is the norm or it's covid related.More
Food - 1/5
Service - 1/5
Restaurant was obviously understaffed - 4 uncleared tables while we waited at the front for ten minutes. Did not receive coffee until five minutes after food arrived. It was completely unclear who our server was. No one asked about...the quality of our food after it was delivered.
I am normally fairly easy going about food service especially at busy times such as brunch. However, I must say that this was my worst trip to Casa Mia in years, after a steady downward progression in quality of service. One server exclaimed at the hostess after the former had just sat a couple about a “reserved” plaque she had allegedly placed at a table (she didn’t) in front of everyone seated on the patio. The hostess did not greet us or inform us to sign the check in when we arrived. There was no signage to wait inside to be seated.
Now onto the food itself. A Belgian waffle, in my own humble opinion, does not deserve to be made out of pancake batter. The waffle did not hold up to the toppings as there was no crispness at all to the outsides and the inside was gritty and chewy rather than fluffy. The whip cream that was supposed to come on top never came. The baked beans that were supposed to be on the side were missing. No server ever circled back to ask how my meal was going. I was not offered a discount on my bill when it finally arrived, rather I was given a cold serving of baked beans in a plastic to go container (as if to say: get lost!). The potato hash that I got on the side instead of a sausage was cold, flavourless desptive claiming to be slathered and cooked in maple syrup, and unpleasantly gritty from the potatoes being unwashed.
Overall this was a bust and I feel disappointed for Casa Mia as I once enjoyed dining there. If you’ve read all this and still want to go, my advice is to go when it’s not busy. Oh, and skip the breakfast altogether, their eggs benny isn’t anything to write home about either.
In a place as small as Charlottetown, patrons ought to be honest with the restaurants so that their favourites might stay open for years to come. Hire more staff, train staff more thoroughly, and take a hard look at your menu.More
We decided to stop in for a quick breakfast. From the time we sat down and ordered to the time our food arrived was at least 30-40 minutes, for just breakfast! The restaurant was not even busy. When the food arrived we had a different...server and all of the meals were cold. The sever did not return to the table once to check how the food was and when she did come back she just asked how we would like the bill! Do not waste your time or money on this place!More
We did some take out desserts during the restaurant panic demic shut downs. We wanted a sweet treat and not just a cookie or doughnut. Someone suggested Casa Mia so we gave it a try. WOW! Their cannolis are really good and the carrot cake...is divine. Best carrot cake I have ever eaten.More
Since Casa Mia renovated, started serving wine, and brought Antonio (former chef of Sirenella) on board, it has graduated from a breakfast, brunch and lunch place to a great dinner spot as well. We loved our meal. We had delicious, tender grilled calamari to start....For our mains, my husband had a mixed seafood platter that was filled with fish and seafood that was grilled to perfection. I had an amazing pasta dish, filled with chicken, spinach, goat cheese and pesto. As we had to drive, we both only had a glass of wine. Neither one of us had room for one of their fabulous desserts...but we have had them before and they are worth every calorie. Gina, the proprietor, is a beautiful hostess and her staff provides impeccable service.More
