Small portions but food was tasty, interesting types of beer. Didn't have enough nerve to try The Flying Monkey Smashbomb.

The food is well prepared and served fresh at all times. They have a daily deal of a meal with a pint of beer until 7pm. It draws the neighbourhood. What a welcoming feature. Being opposite the indie ale house almost requires to offer a nicely curated choice of local beers and it's indeed a very good selection. But the... More

We love going to The Hole in the Wall for a beer and some eats. It's a dark, cavernous place, but it's filled with good vibes and good music and good service. The food is even good!

Fun, divey bar with excellent service and great food. We enjoyed pints of Muskoka Detour while dining on the fresh oysters and croquettes. Will definitely return.

My wife and i have made this our local spot. She usually tells the bartender how is she felling like and the dudes know exactly what cocktail to make. Food is also great so we know we really cannot go wrong.

Really cool place, reminds me of spots in old Chicago. Great long bar, excellent selection on tap and food was fabulous.

this is my favourite bar in the junction. casey the bartender will make any drink you want, you can give him a random flavour or food/dessert you like and he whips up an impressive looking and tasting cocktail in no time. the food isn't the reason to go here. speakeasy feel with great live music every night. go early, hard... Busy, friendly spot with a great vibe and fantastic live music. We didn't eat but the drinks were divine. The bottle of wine we wanted was not available so the incredibly cook guy serving us went to heck the cellar and bought us a couple of gems to choose from. Next up a few great tasty cocktails, some personalised and... More

Since the new owners took over, The HOLE in the Wall has been consistently pumping out amazing, unique dishes. Savoury egg drop mac and cheese to an incredible chicken liver mousse. My friend ordered a trout dish that she can't stop raving about. The alcohol selection is massive and the atmosphere is killer. Go there early because it's always rammed... More

Went here for a family dinner of apps. Cozy bar that also has live music certain evenings (which I didn't get to hear while I was there). Great atmosphere and friendly server. Craft beer available which is a plus. However, the food, was fantastic! Absolutely delicious. We had the Duck Wings and the Calamari, both were eaten in full. Will... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
