Our go to spot when in the city. It is all about old school funk, soul and rnb music. This is not the stereotyped pretentious TO clubs with poseurs and high prices. Dave Murphy Band usually plays Fridays. They are seasoned musicians who bring the funk, soul and rnb. I could do with less pop, but the ladies dig it.... More

We went there with friends in an add-hoc situation and it was a very good choice. Music was great that night, the bar staff was switched on and friendly. Great spirit and a lot of fun. This place has a character and we will visit again.

On the 2nd floor of 580 College Street is a hidden entertainment gem! We had heard about this famed live music cauldron, but had never personally experienced it ourselves! Friendly staff and patrons of all ages. The music was just amazing! The live band was extremely talented and tight! Yes would go back!!! 5 stars!!

Went to see a band there last night. Website stated that music started at 10pm, and we arrived a bit later at 10.30. When we arrived, the door was locked and there was no way to get in. We called the number for the place and the answer machine confirmed the band were playing, so we were left confused. We... More

There's a band called Arsenals...... gotta go see them! The play Jamaica Ska and you can't just sit and watch them, your gonna want to dance. Many nice people in the bar mixed crowd. I strongly recommend a night out when the Arsenal play. You wont be disappointed.

Saw Oakland Strokes band, tribute to Tower of Power, excellent! Club is small, dark and fills up fast. First show at 9. There was a $15 cover charge each. Not sure what the capacity is but everyone seemed comfortable standing shoulder to shoulder and moving to the music. Room is long and no that wide so if you're at the... More

If you are looking for a funky bar to go to in Toronto with live music this is the place to go. No food, but you can bring it in if you would like. Found it has a really nice patio hidden in the back.

Went to see Hot Fiyah at the Orbit Room last Saturday night. I knew nothing about the band except that they were R & B....but when I saw 2 keyboards on the stage I knew I was in the right place. A few bars into the first number the band found its groove. There's nothing like seeing a great player... More

We went to the Orbit Room last Friday night to celebrate my birthday. I knew about the Orbit Room because it has been a fixture in the Toronto music scene for many years, and I had heard that they had a Hammond organ on stage. I am a big fan of blues organ and I wanted to hear some good... More

I was in Toronto on business and being a HUGE fan of the band Rush, I had to visit the Orbit Room as it is co-owned by Alex Lifeson, Rush's guitar player. I was surprised at how small the place was, but it was a very cozy, friendly atmosphere. I got there at about 9 on a Wednesday night and... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
Toronto's Little Italy is a city hotspot for cafe culture and nightlife. There's something for everyone in Little Italy, apparent from the cross-section of clubbers in glitzy dresses, and elderly couples arm-in-arm heading to their favorite wine or pasta spot. Cafes spill onto the wide sidewalks, pool lounges and bars are always teeming with noise and activity, and both outdoor and indoor marketplaces are packed with fresh fish, cured meats, and pungent cheeses. All of the activity makes it a perfect spot for people-watching, especially over a nice glass of red wine or a quick and sumptuous slice of pizza at one of the many eateries or trattorias in the area.
