Visited a few minutes after opening on a rainy Sunday so this could excuse the lacklustre service and experience. The smoked salmon bistro benedict was average and quite bland, hardly any salmon. The potato latkes were oily (base for the salmon and egg). One positive was the stuffed French toast, I must say the peanut butter mouse and chocolate sauce... More

Both the meal (porkloin and steak) as well as beer were fanstastic in quality (great meat cuts, super tender) and taste! The ambiance and service were of the same level. Overall experience 5/5!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to eat dinner for our last night in Toronto and we came across the beer bistro! The selection of beer is incredible! The food was was delicious but quite expensive for the portions that are served! I would definitely visit this place again

At first we thought we just wanted to sit by the window and people watch while we nibbled an app and sipped a glass of wine. But then we saw the bar seats overlooking the kitchen. What fun!!! They took care of us better than if we were sitting in Mom's kitchen. You will love this place if you love... More

Staff were hard working friendly and helpful. First time we visited the waiter was very knowledgeable about the beer which was excellent and wide ranging. Many European draught beers though I was interested in the local regional ones. Some expensive, some quite reasonable. extensive list of bottled beer. We came back another day to eat earlier in the evening. Seems... More

We ate ouside in a little table barely lighted. The waitress was very kind and smart. We took two medium beers, a regular salad with a little piece of roasted salmon and he took a simble hamburger. The food was good, but 65$ CAD is too much in my opinion.

Really loved it. Service was friendly and quick. Came for the fondu. Will absolutely be back for the fondu. Do yourself a favour and order a side of frites to eat with that delicious melted cheese. Way to go Beer Bistro!

I went there in the evening, alone. I was impressed by the selection of beers, and the precision of the description and choice. It will not be the largest beer collection, but they are carefully chosen and served. I am not a mussel fan, so I had limited choice of food, but it was really good, even if the beer... More

We visited the beer bistro late on a Sunday night. It was very quiet and easy to get a table. And quick to get our food. We had 3 dishes : The squash and arugula pizza (which is similar to a long rectangular flatbread)$16 = 4-4.5/5 The snap pea, zucchini, squash and arugula tagliatelle pasta $22 = 3-3.5/5 And the... Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
