A wonderfully large selection of beer, with excellent recommendations provided by the staff. I was there with friends, but we were able to have a decent conversation witghout having to yell. And the fries were very good!

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge and so close to our hotel. The atmosphere is very pleasant, casual, and relaxing. There are tables outside as well. The fries cooked in duck fat was very tasty, so were the pizzas. Try the duck confit pizza! They have a good selection of beer and wine. Overall, a very pleasant meal and... More

If you love Beer you must go to Beer Bistro. I can't remember the bartender's name, but man, he knows his stuff. Super friendly, large selection of beers, great vibe. I would definitely go back in a second.

Fantastic menu, great beers with a huge selection. A must visit in downtown Toronto. Lots of German beers and the duck fat fries are spectacular.

We went here with friends from the area who were not beer drinkers but ended but loving it! We had a selection of different samplers, so they were able to determine which ones they liked. The mussels were fantastic (I had the Thai ones). I have had Thai mussels in many other places and these were absolutely the best! Other... More

Stopped in for a meal and a beer. I was pleased with the beer selection. They have a decent list to choose from. My meal was great. I had the mussels in the white garlic sauce. Outstanding.

I was looking for a spot close to my hotel to try some local Toronto beers and Google pointed me here. The decor was off putting...reminded me of generic midtown Manhattan, but the beer selection was endless, with at least 20 beers on tap, probably 100 more in bottles from Americas, Europe, and beyond. Two bartenders tag teamed like pros... More

A great patio, great food, an amazing wine list. This place beats most of the places in the downtown core for value. The food is solid, the service is expert, the patio is very quiet (for downtown!) and it very conveniently located just east of Yonge Street at King.

My wife and I took our daughter and son-in-law here for dinner at 4 pm on a Tuesday. I had enjoyed my last visit approximately 2 years ago. The restaurant wasn't busy so we were able to find space on the patio. While we like beer, we found the beer selection a bit overwhelming. Our food was excellent. We ordered... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
