Our expectations were very high with the reputation and the visibility of chef Lynn Crawford on food Channel. Although, there were a little something missing. Well ok the music was a little bit loud and the waiter was a little bit rough with the dinning ware but it was more than that. The food was good but not exceptional. A... More

We went with another couple and had a wonderful meal. It is a set prix fixe menu ($54) that they post a few days in advance on their website. They offer an additional app and an additional main ($18 each). The additional dishes are ideal for sharing if you have a group of four or more. Otherwise, it would be... More

I took my partner here for his birthday. We'd been before but it had been awhile. We were not disappointed. The meal was wonderful, although one could argue there was too much food. The service was perfect. A special thanks to Antony for his extra special care.

When we decided to have our wedding meal at Ruby Watchco, the upstairs space was still (I think) relatively new. Based on previous experience with Chef Crawford's cooking, we booked our wedding dinner without viewing the new space. It did not disappoint. The family style service works great for a small wedding (we were 14 people, brides included) and the... More

I came here for mine and my moms birthday. There were 10 of us, I was a little worried as we have some picky eaters in the family, but everyone loved everything. The portions were great, we were stuffed by the end. Lynn Crawford was right there preparing our meal which was fun! Our waiter was very nice, great service,... More

Family style and since this is considered "fine dining", the portions are very small. Vegetarian options are limited and not appetizing. The servers were awesome, but otherwise it's a waste of money. Small and crowded atmosphere. Wouldn't go back.

I was looking forward to our evening at this restaurant. My friends had been there before and recommended it. There were 7 of us . We arrived at 8:30 for the second sitting and we weren't seated till after 9 and no food was delivered to us till after 10 pm ! My friend was not feeling well and needed... More

I would say Ruby Watch co is a "boutique" restaurant. Let me explain: they use fresh ingredients as locally supplied as possible in the Farm to Table fashion. Their offering is based on a fixed menu with only a few optional selections. When we visited the main was a Fogo Island cod. I personally rarely order fish when dining out,... More

On a recent trip to Rome, an Italian friend of ours referred us to a few restaurants and told us to invite the waiter to bring us whatever the chef recommended. We did so and we loved it - there's a nice adventure in just eating whatever is brought to us and knowing that it's probably going to be really... More

Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
