Fantastic girls night out. Food is exceptional if you are not too picky as it's family style. We have eaten here 6 times this year and will be back many more times

Dinner here has been on our bucket list. Got in without a reservation. Warm greeting. Started with the daily cocktail...Saskatoon Sour. Yum. Then a yummy salad. Then cod dinner with 3 sides. Beautiful presentation. Lacked a bit in seasoning for my taste. Followed by a cheese plate. Yum. Followed by bread pudding. Very nice. The service was excellent. All in... More

Pleasant walk out of the city centre - well worth it! The food was absolutely delicious - the service was exceptional - the staff were so knowledgeable and quietly enthusiastic about the food. The restaurant is very nice inside. We also had a lovely cocktail and beer and some good wine with our meal. Trust the chef to make a... More

I went to Ruby Watch Co for a birthday dinner and was very disappointed with the entire dining experience. To start, the service was very disorganized. We had several wait staff come to the table to take orders that we had already placed. I waited 20 minutes for a cocktail that wasn't very good - I ordered it because it... More

So very disappointed to see the food go down in size and taste. The portions are so small now that one medium sized baked potato was to feed 4 of us which was cut into four slices. . The meat was so bland and tough we left half of it. . I use to leave here with raving reviews and... More

Had a long-awaited reservation for a special Saturday evening with extended family. We were all shocked by the noise level - absolutely ghastly. When we raised our concerns, we were eventually told the restaurant is aware of the problem. However, while nothing could be done regarding the loud din of a full restaurant of chatting diners, they did not turn... More

I returned to Ruby Watchco after my first visit, which was about two years ago. The service was great, but the food was pretty disappointing. The salad was delicious - good sized portion as well. The portion size for the rest of the dishes was tiny. Above all, what was most disappointing about my experience was my main dish. The... More

We had a lovely evening out with friends at Ruby Watchco. We left feeling that they weren't getting it quite right, however. While the food was fantastic - everything you'd expect from Lynn Crawford - a combination of highly skilled food prep and artistry. The flavours, tastes and combinations of those were a delight. Our concern is serving sizes. We... More

Six of us ladies (50 +) had dinner last night at Ruby Watchco. Our waiter was good and the service was very good. Food was tasty but the portions were small. The cheese plate was one thin piece of cheese each about 1 " x 1", not exactly a cheese plate. Our complaint was the noise, the music was so... More

For our 48th anniversary, we returned to the city of our growing up- Toronto- and made the choice of Ruby Watchco for a Friday night dinner. Thank goodness we made a reservation online a few days before- the place was full of happy, chatting diners, yet we felt no rush and no hints to vacate the table. People must know... More

Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
