Not the cheapest place in town, ($55 for 3 x egg breakfasts) but our first visit we had a good breakfast.. however second visit not so great. The potatoes were hard and when I mentioned it to two different staff, it was met with an indifferent shrug..

Knew of the restaurant through the Canadian Food Network show, You Gotta Eat Here, and decided to try it on our last night of our trip. The Service: A++ Fast, courteous, fun and kind. They made our entire family feel at home. Made helpful menu suggestions and were efficient in their work. The Food: My son had the fish and... More

I had "the good plate" which was decent quality. The pancake was quite tasty and the rest was ok ... My girlfriend didn't like her omlette and said it was cold when it was served. She ate very little if it. $43.00 for breakfast for two plus tip is a little steep in my opinion. The booths are really packed... More

We came here for breakfast and had a very good meal. I had the Canadian breakfast and enjoyed it very much. It's got nice booth-style seating, quick service and good food, and fairly inexpensive. It's well located near the hotel we were staying at.

It's a beautiful vintage place to breakfast, a perfect scramble egg and pancakes. The staff can help you.

We had heard the place was small and gets busy, so we were at the door early one bitterly cold morning. The owner let us in to a cramped, but extremely cozy diner-like space with red booths and chrome trim. Very unassuming interior. Old school. Booths were small, but the coffee mugs were not. The wait staff was very friendly... More

We had a great breakfast here. It's Toronto's oldest restaurant and it doesn't disappoint. The decor is original, & the menu is comprised of comfort food. We all loved what we ordered. The lemonade lacks taste, but other than that it's a fantastic place to grab some delicious food and enjoy a walk down memory lane.

A classic Diner style restaurant. The brunch menu is on the small side but covers all the bases. I have yet to be able to clear my plate and i have a healthy appetite. Service is great and the staff a very friendly.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
