First visit here and very sad that it'll be my last due to closing. Celebrated Valentines Day with my boyfriend with a delicious meal, our server's excellently recommended red wine and live piano/jazz music. Very cosy atmosphere, felt like we were somewhere else temporarily.

We're really disappointed that this old faithful is closing. We like to have dinner before a show or concert. Lately, the food and service has gone up a notch or two so we're especially sorry to say good bye. Last night we had a lovely dinner before a TSO concert. Best mussels I've had in ages and the veal medallions... More

One night we were unavoidably detained and showed up 2 1/2 hrs late. Our group of seven were cordially welcomed and given a table. The cuisine was excellent as usual but what stood out for me was the attitude of the staff who acted as if serving us so late at night was no inconvenience at all. I am sure... More

We love the St. Tropez Bistro and never fail to eat there when we are staying over in Toronto, or are in Toronto for the day. We have recommended the restaurant to many of our friends. We will be sorry to see it go. We never had a bad experience there.

My friend and I paid one last visit to this fine bistro which is closing on March 12. In retrospect, we should have been there more often. We shared the baked brie and apple appetizer, I had a sublime arctic char in passion fruit beurre blanc, and my friend had the veal "medallions" (actually one big chunk of meat) in... More

We chose this restaurant because of its location to our hotel and found that it was the same restaurant I used to eat in many years ago and it had always been my favourite. The service and food are both great and it is not over priced. Unfortunately, the restaurant is closing on March 15th which is a shame. I'm... More

As Marcel's sister restaurant was closed and Winterlicious festival of pre set menus was on=== it was a great honor to have St Tropez almost to ourselves, Amazing Bouillabaisse-very flavourful broth. Great Nicoise salad,,perhaps too big? Moules frites great wine-shallot sauce, perfectly cooked mussels, crispy fries... Profiteroles...amazing chocolate sauce.... Reasonable bottled wine prices...

Although there are many restaurants to chose from in this area, the Saint Tropez is our Go To place. We have found this to be the perfect place to pop in for a quick bite to eat. It can get quite busy and seating is close so if that doesn't bother you its perfect!!! My experiences there have always been... More

Was attending the theatre across the street so researched for a restaurant close by with a pre-theatre menu and settled on St. Tropez. Excellent choice. Entered on the ground floor (a sister French restaurant on the 2nd floor) to a small, nicely decorated, bistro style room. A little dim but quite serviceable. Only a third of the tables were taken... Description
The Best of France under one roof! Le Saint Tropez, Marcel's sister restaurant, is located on the main floor. Featuring Mediterranean cusine, some favorites include steak-frites with five peppercorn sauce, bouillabaisse, duck breast with Grand Marnier, seafood linguine and a selection of daily fresh fish. Desserts include lemon pie with raspberry coulis and chocolate mousse. Every evening, the sounds of La Vie en Rose drift across the dining room from cabaret inspired musicians. Enjoy a bottle of wine in the lovely courtyard.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
