Since my first visit I have returned on a number of occasions with friends and family and this place is still going strong. The quality of the fresh food remains great and the grilled squid is a must for any seafood lover. The portions continue to be generous and fairly priced. Reservations are a good insurance practice, as the place... More

and that's a good thing. Baldini's remains a great choice, with good food and good service. If you are hard of hearing like ourselves, consider coming right at opening (11:30) or be aware of the 3:00 lunch closing time and arrive for say, the last 70 minutes. This is not a large place and it comes by its noise volumes... More

Great little spot. Excellent service, delicious food. My only complaint was I came with a Groupon, forgetting it was Father's day and was told I could not use it, although there was nothing on the Groupon stating that you could not use it on a holiday.

We went with a groupon coupon for 4. Two of us had the trout special of the day and the other 2 had veal picatta. The veal was very good, but the trout was AMAZING! It was served with a pasta that was equally yummy. Easily the best trout I have ever had in Toronto. The homemade lemon tart was... More

Good food. The carbonara was tasty. Reasonable prices. Quiet ambience, with welcoming service. Tables are a little close together, but it wasn't crowded. Not really for families, but cozy for couples.

Been there twice recently. Very friendly place with excellent food. We were all pleased with the evenings. Mid-range prices with fine dining touches.

Cozy, comfy Italian food restaurant. Italian country style food. Generous portions. Big, bold, punchy flavours.

Service was great and the staff attentive, but the food quality has suffered...veal parm was bland and unseasoned, the thin crust pizzas were dry and overdone, nothing really stood out.

I was there on Saturday March 19th with 3 friends following an afternoon movie. We had reserved a table and it was ready for us when we arrived. The meals were all pronounced wonderful. I had just returned from a Caribbean vacation and was longing for mashed potatoes with my meal. I was not disappointed. The house red wine was... More

Nice restaurant with good service. Wine list is limited but you have selection of many house wines (by the glass, 1/2 or 1 liter). We order from the daily special. Oysters and grilled calamaris were very good. For main courses we had the grilled lamb chops (good portion but too much sauce), veal linguini (meat was delicious but the sauce... More

Baldini: a true Italian cuisine. A simple sub shop was bought and turned into a popular fine-dining restaurant, and since 2006 it has been an appealing addition to the Trendy Leslieville Gem. Baldini presents guests with a pan-regional selection of dishes from Northern and Southern Italy, along with home-made pastas, breads and sauces.Executive Chef Sal, the sole owner, with over 20 years of experience, ensures that ingredients are fresh from local markets and are prepared only in the finest Italian tradition to ensure the best possible flavour. Followed by homemade gnocchi and other savoury pastas, risotto, whole-wheat thin crust pizza, along with meat and seafood dishes; Baldini has a wide range of full-flavours of the herbs and spices, that creates the full-Italian experience.Gentle jazz sets the mood, as our diners unwind casually on the classic brick wall and the cozy dining atmosphere, enjoying their meals at the heart of the Leslieville Gem. Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
