My partner and I had basically just returned from a beautiful 10 day vacation in (as we refer it as), our 2nd home. We have made so many friends in Cuba, it's like going "home". Of course we miss the country and our friends. It was my Partners birthday and when I said to pick a place to for his... More

Went out for my sis in laws bday. They had live music and the gentleman was really good. They gave out maracas which was fun. The owner I believe was the bar tender and he made great drinks and made sure we were happy and well served. As for the food, appetizers were great! We had shrimp, chorizo, crab cake... More

Great patio in the rear, which is perfect for enjoying tapas and Mojitos. Love the yuca fries. This is not fine cuisine but an excellent neighbourhood restaurant which I hope sticks around.

This is one of my favorite Toronto restaurants. The scene reminded me a lot of Cuba. Fantastic and delicious Cuban sandwiches with cassava fries but you can add an order of maduros is even better. Finished with espresso and home made coconut flan .Great service ,friendly.I would highly recommended it.

We visited the Mambo Lounge for one of their monthly Carnivale nights. The fixed price meal was Grilled shrimp and fried Taro to start, a green salad, and finally roast pig and grilled chicken served with veg, rice and beans. All th food was excellent. The main was all you can eat but I was full after one plate. My... More

Great place for Tapas to share with friends or a delicious fixed price dinner. They are very accommodating to dietary needs. The Tropical salad is so delicious & the Coconut rice is yummy. They even have a vegetarian plate. Oh - did I mention desert...I had the coconut pudding and the crene brûlée with no guilt!!! They have been written... More

I am so shocked and confused in reading the reviews for this restaurant, in fact, I had to check the address to make sure I was reviewing the correct one... The gentleman who greeted us at the door of the near-empty restaurant was lovely and welcoming; he might be the owner. We placed our Summerlicious order and awaited yummy, Cuban... More

The food was amazing and full of flavour. The great variety of tapas. The shrimp is large and delicious. I recommend the lamb shank. It is tender and very filling. The staff are extremely friend and welcoming. They claim they have the best mojitos and they do. They have a Carnival night once a month on Saturday which is a... More

I've been here twice and was not disappointed! The food and service are both excellent. The mojito took me back to Cuba. I highly recommend the crab cakes off the Tapas menu as well as the grilled calamari. I had the lamb as the main which was tasty, but I didn't like the cut of meat, it was a little... More

While visiting Toronto on business, we visited Mambo Lounge and we were very impressed with the restaurant. The food was incredible, and service was top-notch and the ambience was beautiful! Mambo makes you feel like you are right in the heart of Havana! One of my favourite restaurants in Toronto!

Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
