This is one of the better coffee stops in T.O. I went on a week long coffee search late last year and this place is among the top 3 out of 35 stops!

The Bulldog Cafe was just around the corner from the hotel a friend and I were staying in during our vacation and rather than taking breakfast at the hotel, we decided to grab a coffee here. We loved the coffee that much that we ended up going there every morning for our caffeine fix and had a few nice chats... More

Delicious coffee and baked goods in a convenient location. There were lots of 'regulars' in line -- I always take this as a good sign.

Amazing coffee, friendly service- don't miss this if you are in Toronto. My partner and I are well-travelled across the world and love coffee. We were struggling to find a decent latte, and are not fans of Starbucks- so glad we stumbled across Stuart's place- he is a genuine barista. The home-made buns and scones are also superb. Say 'Hi;... More

We were wandering the area doing a short trip to Toronto, used Siri to find us some nearby coffee shops, and came across Bulldog on a quiet local side street, with outside seating. Our coffees were made with good quality organic beans and true barista skills, highly recommended if you are in the area. Great opera playing on the sound... More

Visited for early morning coffee. At 09:20 they had no food, coffee was average, service was rubbish. Seriously not worth the walk from the water front.

We visited this place after checking a list of places selling the best Latte in the city from last year according to Now Magazine. When we got there I was surprised at how small the place was and how 'meh' the ambiance was. We ordered a latte and a cappuccino and the barista told us that those were actually the... More

Sadly, all of the comments regarding the owner of this place are true. I was a regular at this place for at least a couple of years, meeting up with friends or having meetings, when I threw in the towel due to the inability of the owner to treat his customers properly. And by proper, I mean with respect and... More

Terrible service. Very rude, ill-bred, crude, nonprofessional, with bad manners, THE MOST STUPID Owner......

Good to find an independent coffee shop with talented barista's and great coffee... there is a cooler with lots of unusual homebaked sweets tucked away on a small street just off Church and Carlton. Outdoor seating is available and a small inside seating area. You can also buy thier coffee to take home. Worth a visit just for the coffee.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
