We had dinner on Friday night and everything was impeccable. Service was great and the food was perfect. We will return.

If my review was based on food alone I would give a 2/5. The roof top patio is a great place for cocktails, secluded and cozy. Our group had an amazing waiter who could not have been more healful. Service was excellent. I had the chicken dish for dinner and quite frankly it was one of the worst meals I... More

Thanks for your feedback and I am sorry that you did not enjoy the chicken dish. If you had told your server, certainly we would have replaced it with something else. We do what we can to make things right. I am happy that you enjoyed the service and most of the other dishes. If you decide to return, please... More

I ate at Globe Bistro three times during my recent visit to Toronto (10 days). Each time, the meal was excellent, the ambiance pleasant (though the noise from Taste of the Danforth one evening was distracting) and the staff amazing. I had the Canadian oysters and lobster salad for starters, the Fogo Island Cod & Snow Crab, Cavatelli and the... More

Birthday party guest with 3 young vegetarian children during Summerlicious. Prepared to make the best of it until our server offered to prepare separate meals for the kids, advance their order, and even offer pillows because the chairs were a little too big. Absolutely, hands-down the best experience we've ever had. Our meals made with fresh, high quality selections. Tikki... More

We visited the Globe again recently after an unsatisfactory visit last year. It has improved slightly but I would still rate it average to good. It's a very dark interior, a long thin room which reminds of its history as a former bowling alley. The food was good and the service okay but somehow the atmosphere is gloomy especially in... More

It was a beautiful summer evening. The rooftop patio was not available due to a private function so we were seated at the far back of the restaurant that used to be a bowling alley.... so it was very very dark. It was also very noisy due to a boisterous table with loud talkers or maybe it was just the... More

Had such a good time at Globe Bistro. Food was phenomenal. Oysters were fresh and amazing. The snow crab was to die for. Can't wait to go back. The service, also, was outstanding. Our server... I think his name was Mark? Sorry, I forget. But he was absolutely great. Cant wait for another nice occasion. 5/5

The food was excellent. Surpassed expectations. I had local pickerel which was wonderful. Apparently the steak frites and burgers were also great. The staff was friendly and professional. Will definitely return. ( next time, mid weather cooperates, hopefully on the patio)

Found this restaurant quite by chance. Looking at my printed ticket from Ticketmaster, the was a promotional print for a fixed menu at Globe Bistro for $25. Booked dinner for 2 at 630, but forgot and arrived at 6pm. No problem, the hostess asked us where we'd like to sit. "Somewhere cool", was my response and she led us to... More

The globe bistro is a locally sourced restaurant on the danforth with a higher end menu and wine list. Their dishes and wine are incredible and definitely worth a try for a special occasion. The restaurant itself is beautiful but my favourite part is the rooftop patio. After climbing your way up and up and up, you are welcomed with... More

Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
