This excellent gourmet restaurant has a very relaxing atmosphere and cuisine fit for a discerning palette. We opted for one of the taster's selections, of which there are three. It consisted of six or seven small sample courses. The price is set per couple and the bistro picks the dishes. Of course we had wine and espresso which is extra.... More

Attended Globe Bistro on Thanksgiving weekend and had their prix-fixe. The food and service were really great. They have a nice choice of wines, and the mood and atmosphere are inviting. I really liked the decor. I will visit here again for a regular dinner.

I went w a party of 6, very good and friendly service. The food was also very good, we went for a blind testing menu, sometimes you can be hesitant to go because this testing menus tend to be very small and weird to eat (they change it every time) but everybody on my party was happy w the outcome.... I ordered the lobster salad, pork (finest plate) and carrot cake. Everything was delicious! The food presentation was very nice and the flavour was even better. We ate on the rooftop and thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Really good value for the food and service provided - can't recommend this place enough! We ordered the 6 course tasting menu that somehow turned into 8 courses!

We have booked quiet couple dinners at the Globe or with children but also larger events with 20 or more for family celebrations. The food is well priced and uses local sourced meat and produce. Every plate we've tried tastes great - this week it was heirloom tomato salad, steak frites, trout, chicken. Portions are not big, but well presented,... More

Went there for dinner before a tiff movie on a recommendation. The fact that I could get a reservation on a Saturday nite with 30 minutes notice should have been my first hint. Service is impeccable. The hostess was great. The waitress awesome. Very attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The food, however, wasn't all that good. It really felt... More

If my review was based on food alone I would give a 2/5. The roof top patio is a great place for cocktails, secluded and cozy. Our group had an amazing waiter who could not have been more healful. Service was excellent. I had the chicken dish for dinner and quite frankly it was one of the worst meals I... More

Thanks for your feedback and I am sorry that you did not enjoy the chicken dish. If you had told your server, certainly we would have replaced it with something else. We do what we can to make things right. I am happy that you enjoyed the service and most of the other dishes. If you decide to return, please... More

I ate at Globe Bistro three times during my recent visit to Toronto (10 days). Each time, the meal was excellent, the ambiance pleasant (though the noise from Taste of the Danforth one evening was distracting) and the staff amazing. I had the Canadian oysters and lobster salad for starters, the Fogo Island Cod & Snow Crab, Cavatelli and the... More

Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
