HoSu Bistro is not the most outstanding sushi place in Toronto by any means but after many visits I can honestly say the food is always excellent. The edamame? mellifluous, the veg and/or shrimp tempura? never greasy, always delicious, My son and I always order either the Dynamite roll or the Red dragon roll and you cannot go wrong with... While it's not fancy, it's a great value for this neighbourhood. I'd actually rate it 3.5 stars, the food is fresh, you can see the staff cooking it there in front of you, the service is good and efficient. I've been coming here for many years and drop by when I'm nearby. The Korean fare is equally as good as... More

I do take out at HoSu all the time. Good Japanese/Korean dishes and good sushi at great prices. Must go if you are in midtown!

Definitely one of the better Japanese/Korean restaurants in town. Large portions of very fresh food. Good lunch specials, excellent miso soup, pleasant service. And the prices are unbelievable. Have to say it....cheap! I've had lunch here several times and always more than pleased. Busy with repeat customers.

One of my favourite spots for take-out and good, cheap sushi and Korean fare. Don't expect gourmet, but rather pretty good eats for almost no money. The bento boxes are great value and have a variety of foods included. Try the bulgogi lunch meal. Lots of beef, rice and veggies. The only thing that could and should change is the... More

I particularly enjoy the take-out menu… they give me enough food to last for 2 meals. Extremely reasonably priced. I always order the KOREAN CHICKEN with the TEMPURA side.

We ordered chicken udon, there was almost no chicken there, only noodles for 10 $. I really can make better at home. We asked the waitress why almost no chicken, she said that's what we get. We were taken aback by that reply. We left hungry and went to other place to eat. The place at young and eglinton is... More

Went here to grab something to eat after a friend got a tattoo done at Chronic Ink. This restaurant is a blend of Japanese and Korean food. They have a liquor license and a good selection of Japanese beer. The menu has a Toronto touch, as sushi options are named after Toronto streets. I had the Bayview. The sushi was... More

Had lunch today at this nice bistro style restaurant and was surprised by the quality and price. It was my first visit and my co-worker suggested as he had been there several times. For a Thursday lunch there was a fair crowd but there was available seating space. Found the service to be very prompt and friendly but the real... More

Best sushi place in Yonge and Eglinton. Healthy and delicious rather than going to the food court. The staff are fast and excellent in customer service.

Staying in North End

Neighborhood Profile
North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
