Don't be fooled by the small size. Super sushi spot. Great food, super service, excellent drinks. Worth the trip.

Very itty bitty smallest restaurant ever with the best sushi your money can buy! The service is quick and efficient and very friendly. The sushi is, hands down, my favorite in the city, especially the quality you get for what you pay. Highly recommend!

Some really high quality, reasonably price sushi and sashimi here. Very small and cosy but service is fast and efficient and, most importantly, the food is delicious. The deluxe sashimi platter is right up there with some we've had in New York and even Japan itself - and the Uni (sea urchin) took us right back to an early morning... More

This is just a clear example that you don't always need to spend loads of money to enjoy a good lunch abroad. Here the balance is perfect. Modest, nice, quiet and traditional place with an excellent variety of sushi at a quite reasonable price. My favorites were salmon, toro and yellow tail sushi. Its kind waiters add the extra of... I grabbed a top notch sushi bento box and short Sapporo at this deservedly busy restaurant. There is no bar seating but the chef made superb choices of sushi and I enjoyed every bite. The sushi is simply premium quality and see was friendly and fast.

First off the sushi here is AMAZING! You will not be disappointed! Some of the best sushi I've had in the city. My only complaint is we were asked to leave our table to accommodate another reservation (location is quite small, reservations are recommended!) We were only given about 5 minutes warning, and asked to vacate twice, forcing me to... More

Japango is perfect. FRESH sushi, the rolls are small and they don't have a lot of rice which I like as most places pack on the rice. The service is awesome and everyone is friendly and the food comes out quick. Everything tastes so good and fresh. Cant beat the prices.

If you plan to spend a lot, just go ahead, because the food is okay. Do not order salmon because not fresh at all.

This is my absolute favorite Japanese restaurant in downtown Toronto. The freshness and quality are unsurpassed. If you are lucky they will have Fresh Uni which is out of this world.

not trendy, it's crowded and be prepared to get intimate with the table next to you. and that's great!! part of amazing experience. boss lady very nice and runs the place well. fish is beyond fantastic and prepared with respect. if you haven't had sushi here and claim to like the cuisine, you're a fraud.

Thank Sam D

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
