Visited Oyshi for the first time with my wife...Very mediocre. Their spicy salmon roll is not tasty and the yam roll has little taste compared to others I've tried. On the plus side, the gzoya and miso soup were well done. Also, service was fast and efficient. I'd skip this in favour of some much better options nearby eg. Nani,... More

The restaurant was furnished with a very traditional Japanese style with private rooms. The Japanese servers tried their best to communicate in English with a smile which is commendable. They provided a complimentary edamame which was nice as well. However, the miso soup was bland and seems to be diluted. The unagi and the avocado in the maki was relatively... More

Simple but cozy Japanese restaurant managed by a friendly team of Koreans. Very good sushi, not fancy but fresh. If you are looking for quality rather fanciness, this will be your place. Great quality/price!

A friend and I were meeting up for dinner and she suggested this place as I was craving sushi and it's close to her office. The restaurant is small and we sat in one of the small curtained tables. The waitress was prompt and friendly. The menu seemed to offer the standard Japanese restaurant fair. My friend and I weren't... More

You really have to try Oyshi Sushi it was like being back in Tokyo! A small sushi bar but it does have some tables and booths a group of 8 could all sit together or you can comfortably sit at the bar and select your own fish individually! The saki was good both warm and cold, the wine is not... More

Best sushi I've had in toronto! Small place but amazing in quality and freshness. Service really good too, but I will keep coming for how fresh the sushi is!

I went here with my partner last week and was pleasantly surprised. From the outside it looks like a hole in the wall type place but once in the service is amazing and food excellent! Just beware, you get edamame, miso and salad with all the meals so more food comes out than expected and its very good.

On a recent business trip, stopped into this quaint space and discovered big, bold, flavor. The sashimi app is a must. Rolls are exactly what you expect and worth the calories. We may come back before we leave. Yes. That good.

First, I'm not a fan of sushi, but went to the restaurant with friends. I was impressed by the variety on the menu, generous portions, and attentive staff. The "decor" consists of reviews/autographs from visiting and home town athletes written on placemats and pinned to the walls. Very enjoyable and quick meal.

Service was very good and prompt! Servers very attentive and our food came very quickly! The Sashimi & Sushi was excellent but the Teriyaki Beef was on the bland side. Tempura was okay. Decent value, good atmosphere and overall very good food!

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
