I was very impressed at the meal I had at Mirto. It was 4 courses and all were very tasty. My husband had steak and it was very tender. I had salmon it was lovely and fresh. I was so pleased to find this gem of a restaurant.

don't judge a book by its cover. at first thought it does not look like fine dining restaurant by its décor. however the food was excellent. service was quick and friendly. everything was nicely presented and very tasty. nice portions. truly enjoyed the lovely four course dinner meal. it is worth checking out.

Our waiter was the Italian owner and second generation Italian. Menu was compact but food was excellent. We had mussels and then a pizza. Both first rate. Small restaurant with a lot of charm.

We did not want to walk far from our hotel for dinner and we came across this restaurant only a block away. It offered a very relaxed atmosphere, an efficient and friendly service and great food. Both our seafood fettucini and veal marsala were excellent. We had wine by the glass which was quite good.

I hate being steered to the most expensive bottle of wine on the list when asking for recommendations - and this was not the case here. Several good bottles came to the table for 12, and the food was up to everyone's liking. We had the back room which was much quieter than the main dining area. Great servers. Would... More

We are two girlfriends, meeting monthly for dinner, often wanting to take advantage of Groupon coupons to check out new places and be as economical as we can. We arrived early and ordered a bottle of wine. The servers were warm, welcoming and helpful as we sorted through the Groupon coupon requirements. In some places, the Groupon menu is the... More

This small restaurant location is tucked away in an older building on Toronto Street and has nice big windows. The interior decoration leaves something to be desired, but was very clean. Be sure to come hungry as the portion sizes are generous. We used a Groupon deal so had to choose from their special Groupon 4 course menu: We had... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
