Formerly one of my favourite places to eat when I visit the Beaches, The Green Eggplant relocated a block away from it's previous location. The restaurant itself is very upbeat and lively - decorated very nicely. The food was very disappointing. We were there for a very light dinner and ordered 2 salads (one with salmon and one with chicken)... More

We visit this restaurant every time we are in the area and have done so for years. The quality of the food and the portions are perfect. The menu is extensive and we have tried many of the meals. They also serve bread with 3 dips as s free appetizer which are delicious. Try to go in off peak times... More

The last time I was at Green Eggplant was a few years ago at their old location and from what I remembered their service was much better then. We arrived around 7:30 on a Friday evening (date night) and the place was packed. I gave the hostess my name along with a few others and after waiting for 15 minutes... More

Before the meal they serve very tasty hummus and fried eggplant with bread. We ordered their seafood linguine and chicken schnitzel. We enjoyed these large fresh portions and I would recommend this place in the Beach's for lunch or dinner.

Before the meal they serve three kinds of mezes, baba ganoush, hummus and fried eggplant with butter and bread. They are really tasty. I had specialty sandwich which had grilled chicken breast and avocado inside, I would recommend it. They brought house salad aside. My friend had chicken shish kebap, he liked it too. He had house salad aside too.... More

Starting with poor service from the get go, our luncheon did not go much better. Mediterranean Salad came with overcooked chicken. Given the number of restaurants in the area, they need to do better.

Family dinner on a really crowded Sunday, the waitress was really kind and polite but the restaurant was understaffed and they made a lot of mistakes with our orders. However, huge portions and flavor was there. Too crowded and too noisy. I don't like the new location.

I've had the pleasure of visiting this place several times with different friends. The service is great, friendly, and they will remember you if you come back. The portions are huge. We usually take home half of it for second take. Great selection of differnt dishes for reasonable price. You get free bread and dipping sauce while you wait for... More

Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
