My friends and I went here to celebrate 2 birthdays and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. It was also, really affordable, for the portion sizes. I do recommend this restaurant, anytime you are down by the beach area.

Friday night, no reservation, 5 minutes waiting for table. Spaghetti Carbonera and Spinach salad with shrimps. Service was fast, nice presentation, good taste. Recommended for couples or families. By the beaches area in Toronto. Normal prices.

Stopped by for dinner. They have moved locations across from the park now. Lots of seating inside, plus they have a small patio.Service was very good, friendly staff. Parking is always an issue in this popular area ( the beaches ), but we found a spot on Queen St. ( metered parking, Mon-Fri you do not have to pay after... More

Of all the restaurants on Queen East in the beach, this is my favorite. I have been here several times and have never had a bad meal. The serving sizes are large and I always end up taking some home with me. Suitable for the whole family and my kids enjoy it just as much as I do. From appetizer... More

I used to love Green Eggplant but over the past couple of years, I am sad to admit, it's gone downhill. They changed the bread that they used to serve at the table, the bread on the portobello burgers, and worst of all, the fries! The fries used to be amazing with this unique texture...almost like a coating, and now... More

Formerly one of my favourite places to eat when I visit the Beaches, The Green Eggplant relocated a block away from it's previous location. The restaurant itself is very upbeat and lively - decorated very nicely. The food was very disappointing. We were there for a very light dinner and ordered 2 salads (one with salmon and one with chicken)... More

We visit this restaurant every time we are in the area and have done so for years. The quality of the food and the portions are perfect. The menu is extensive and we have tried many of the meals. They also serve bread with 3 dips as s free appetizer which are delicious. Try to go in off peak times... More

The last time I was at Green Eggplant was a few years ago at their old location and from what I remembered their service was much better then. We arrived around 7:30 on a Friday evening (date night) and the place was packed. I gave the hostess my name along with a few others and after waiting for 15 minutes... More

Before the meal they serve very tasty hummus and fried eggplant with bread. We ordered their seafood linguine and chicken schnitzel. We enjoyed these large fresh portions and I would recommend this place in the Beach's for lunch or dinner.

Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
