The Granite Brewery has a bland exterior, but is nice and expansive once you walk through the door. There is also a very pleasant back patio. I'd give this spot a good rating as a brew pub, with an assortment of interesting and tasty brews. But like a lot of reasonably priced Toronto restaurants, the food is decent but nothing... More

Nice pub atmosphere with a great outdoor patio at the rear. A friendly feel to this place. A super selection of in house brewed craft beers ... lots of different styles and flavours including two "Cask Ales" when we where there. Met the "brew master" ... she "knows her stuff" !! . Large menu with lots of choices.

Below average customer service. Ok food and terrible self brewed beer. Nice atmosphere though. Its a good place if you are right at Eglinton and mount pleasant. If you are not... Not worth taking your time to go up there.

We ended a fantastic beer tour of Toronto at the Granite brewery this evening. The beers were interesting and somewhat flavourful but the food was awful! The meatloaf that we were served tasted like soaked dark rye bread with a few vegetables and a preformed scoop of mashed potatoes. Really a disappointment despite the pleasant service. Regretfully, the server could... More

Very conveniently located near Eglinton subway station, they have a garden variety of interesting in-house beers (14 different kinds?). My favourite one is "Ringberry" with a subtle aroma of raspberry. The atmosphere is very friendly; however, if you are a vegetarian (such as myself), there are not many options to eat except for salads.

Came to this place with my husband for summerliciouse menu. What a disappointment. Food was below any bar average. I don't understand how come this place has such good reviews. I had fish with rice. The rice was just plain dry rice from a rice cooker without any sauce or seasoning or oil. Never had such horrible rice anywhere. Interior... More

If you're in he area and particularly if you're staying at the Roehampton Hotel and need a place for a late dinner, this is the place. It's a pub, offering typical pub fare plus healthier options, good selection of beer. The one gal serving could have used another server, but she was attentive and our order arrived in a very... A very nice patio in the back.but I requested no onions on my salad and my friend said she loved onions but got none. Too few servers for a busy lunchtime. My salmon did not tast that fresh but the salad was very fresh.

There's a pile of bars in the Yonge-Eglinton area, but this one is my favourite. The food is good-to-very-good pub food and always enjoy the beer here. There's a patio in the front and back, so there's plenty of outdoor seating. Most of the staff are very good. The only negative I'd give is I was there with a friend... More

Staying in North End

Neighborhood Profile
North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
