Very much authentic south indian food. You cannot go wrong if you love south indian food . Pure veg restaurant

We used live this place - there dosas were go good a few years back that we hired them for one of our wedding events! It’s a good 1 hour drive from where we live, but we actually used to do it a few times...a year. Haven’t been for about a year and oh boy, were we disappointed. The sambhar was thick and tasteless as was the potato filling. We all left hungry, disillusioned... and looking for somewhere else to satiate our appetite. Will not return. Ever.More

I have been going to this location every week mostly on Friday I had celebrated so many birthday at this place with my family .They don't take reservations first come get the seats I was at the place yesterday I had enter request the seats...for 15 people the guy at the front desk all people are here then I will get the seats at the time only 10 people was with me he did not take any information he had requested as to wait for 10 minutes then I had all the peoples arrived I had approached him then he had advise me I only have 12 seats other people's has to take what ever the seats available to come I had asked when I had requested you did not take any information now you had give me the option ? We all hungry I don't want to spend more time to create the scene we took whatever availability the order had arrived after 1 hours one by one I have been going to this place since they open now I have to consider my self different placeMore

Had the masala dosa for lunch. The dosa was fresh, crispy and delicious. Bit disappointed with the accompanying sambals, but the stewed vegetables was excellent. Very fast service.

Let’s get the alcohol out of the way first. I like my spicy Indian food with a cold beer. Regrettably most purely vegetarian restaurants do not serve alcohol - a somewhat moralistic, judgemental approach IMHO. That said, I’ve found salted lassi to be an acceptable...substitute, especially if one is in turn willing to compromise on the no alcohol rule for solid, down-to earth veg Indian food. And this restaurant does not fail in delivering the goods. Excellent dosas and house thaali that will have you satisfied (and passing gas!) for a long time. Service was not too bad, but one of of our group’s appetizer (which happened to be her main meal) came way before our appetizer dosas (excellent BTW). And our main meals came way before we were finished with our dosas, despite having explicitly told our waiters to not bring our mains until after we had finished our dosas. First world problems these😉More

Got true Chennai taste and food. Excellent decor and good coffee also. Fast service. Buffet not so good. Better to avoid buffet service days.

One of the few restaurants in Toronto where you can get authentic South Indian buffet for lunch 7 days a week. It’s slightly more expensive on weekends with a couple of items added to the menu. They do have ala carte options as well but...the lunch buffet is very nice with good dosa, poori, Sam ar, different chutneys, bisibela, yoghurt rice etc. They have maintained the standard pretty much consistent over the years as we have been visiting as a family for a long time. The service is good and ambiance decent. Parking is good as it is is situated in a mall.More

Happy Saravanaa bhavan maintain its best always everywhere. We are table of 5 and their welcoming till serving got excellent the way they managed the busy crowd. My family liked the food very much. Ambience is old but the food and service took us away...to India. Other named South Indian restaurant should learn from Saravana. Busy place, good food, consistent quality and good service. I strongly recommend this place.More

Asked for salt lassi and thank God that I asked for the recipe. Lol they just put salt and water in yogurt and call it as salt lassi. Seriously!!!. My advice, if you dont know then go and learn from those who know. The chef...should visit the karraikudi restaurant in Scarborough to taste and know the salt lassi. Secondly saw a senior waiter fighting with a young waiter. Cant they do all that at the back end? Lol, but they are good in south Indian food. Advice, stick that only. Dont spoil your reputation by making things which you don't know.More

The quality literally has fallen off the cliff, service is even bad. I ordered kothu parotta and it came cold not warm at all and it was like rubber. Knowing that it would be spicy I ordered salted lassi which didn’t arrive till I left....The rasa wada was soaked overnight it looks from the taste I got. Look for better options around this area. For the price they charge you are better off going elsewhere.More

We came to eat Dosa and got stuck having their “special” over-priced dinner buffet. Just nothing special and $16 for adults and $10 for kids. Mostly disappointing because we wanted to order off the menu and couldn’t. Could have been way better. In the end...disappointing. No thanks!More
