Very good , not quite warranting 5 stars. Rice not included. But dishes were quite tasty. Service can be slow even though it was not that busy. At least you won't be rushed out. Overall, recommended. You will like it.

We come here a couple of times per year when we are in the mood for a sit-down Indian meal. Despite being located right on Yorkville it feels a bit hidden away and we can usually get a table without reservations. The food is excellent. Note that they do not serve any beef dishes, but the alternatives (goat, chicken, seafood)... More

This place is a solid go to when looking for Indian food in the Yorkville area. So flavourful and full of quality. The butter chicken and naan bed is my absolute favourite. A tiny little gem of a restaurant.

The food was tasty and server attentive, but the space is small and menu a bit pricey for the quality.

Average food, average service. Service needs to be improved; likewise food quality too. Reservation recommended. Location is not bad either.

We went to Utsav without high expectations, just because it was close to where we're staying, and the very clean, bright and Anglo decor didn't exactly promise an authentic Indian experience. The free popadoms were a nice touch, but they were the claggy spiced type that gets stuck to your teeth. But - our food was outstanding. A goan salmon... More

Yet ANOTHER Indian restaurant that cooks for cautious White Canadian tastes rather than for Indians. I used to really hate this about Indian restaurants here, but all of the people I went to Utsav with were worried about the food being too spicy, they can't eat spicy, they don't like spicy...oh man, then why did we go to an Indian... No water was served at the time of arrival. Nobody came for 10 minutes for service. The restaurant was all empty. We just left the place. Will never go back.

Granted I ordered the food from a delivery service, the food was very blah! Butter chicken was too sweet, and the lamb vindaloo was too tangy, but did have the spice level a vindaloo should have. The lamb was also very chewy! It was clearly evident that the both meats for both curries were cooked outside of the dish-and then... More

We were 2 couples meeting in Toronto for a family birthday dinner. I called ahead for a Saturday reservation and they clearly gave us one of their better tables. It was a busy place and the wait staff tried hard to make sure that everything was full on our table (water, drinks, rice, tea). We ordered 2 apps, 4 curries,... More

Little Indian restaurant with home-made delicious food is a great find. Large portions of hearty food served at great prices.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
