I came here after a long day on the water with a group of friends. The restaurant was empty in the middle of dinner time. We ordered the Seafood plaza which was fresh and fantastic.

This was highly recommended as a fine place for fine food. And so it is. It is expensive, but worth it. We would go back there again. It is a terrific place for an intimate celebration.

Visited this restaurant for the first time in April. Service was spot on! Food was superb. I had pasta with a marinara sauce ( simple, but for me a true test to the "authenticity" of the italian food). It was perfect. The pasta was al dente, the sauce was delicious. I love this restaurant and would return in a heartbeat!.... More

The new Sotto is in a house while the old one which burned down some years ago was in a basement. The old one was cozy, the new one is uncomfortable. For example the bathrooms are terrible, dirty and unfinished. For a resto not to have good bathrooms is a big no-no. The food was delicious and served competently and... More

We met friends for our first trip to this restaurant in June 2016. Our table was a bit cramped with an odd young couple wanting to sit on each other's laps (not the restaurant's fault). Otherwise, a great experience. The service was superb. Good, not overbearing attention. Many, many water refills. That is a sign that you have not been... More

Wish this restaurant well, especially after recovering from a devastating fire. Location is lovely as it is in the heart of Toronto and the atmosphere is comforting and reflective of old world charm. However, I feel the consumer should be warned prior to dining here. When ordering a seafood mixed grill appetizer, it sorely disappoints. For $25 you get one... More

I had dinner here a few weeks back. The staff understand the meaning of good service. It's sad to say but so many newer restaurants have great ambiance but terribly trained service staff. This was certainly not the case here. This restaurant is a celebrity favourite and it is understandable given the superb menu. I highly recommend this restaurant and... More

Fantastic food and service. Fresh, crisp, we'll seasoned and prepared as ordered. Served a group of 8 effortlessly in a Saturday night bustle. Nothing bad. appetizers, dessert, drinks, en trees.

Description
Using only the freshest ingredients Sotto Sotto offers a considerable menu of simple classics and traditional creations. To start there is an abundance of wonderful salads and antipasti. Pastas are available as a second or main course dish. Main courses feature veal, beef, seafood and poultry and there are also "risotto for two" options. We also serve delicious gelati and desserts including homemade tiramisu made in the time honoured traditional style of the Rocca family.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
