-waited 30 minutes for service, we had to ask a waitress to help us -no one checked if we wanted extra water, if the food was ok etc. -waited 20 minutes to pay, we had to wave at the waitress to come to us -gave feedback to the hostess who said she wouldn't eat here and that the server was... We were out in Little Italy and just wanted glass of wine and an appetizer. We stumbled on this place and sat outside. It was perfect and just what we were looking for. The wine was perfectly chilled and the calmari was grilled to perfection. They even brought us some toasty bread with oil and and spicy red pepper spread.... More

We visited here on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was very quite. We had the grilled calamari...not very good, tasteless We also had the seafood pasta dish, it was alright but the chicken with cream sauce and pasta was terrible. Dry pieces of chicken floating in a runny, tasteless white sauce. It is a terrible thing to say but you... More

See and be seen on the College strip. The place is perpetually busy and the atmosphere is great. Pizza was solid although not exceptional, tasty thin crust fare, a touch overdone (unless you like the crust almost burnt). Despite what seems like a ton of staff, service is iffy at best, possibly that's a reflection of not being a local?... More

Went there for taste of Italy. I'm italian that isn't a taste of Italy. seafood antipasto we had to order lemon 2 times to give it some taste. Basically calimari and imitation crab meat and some 1 cm mushy shrimp. Ordered pizza with little cheese and they said no substitutions. So it came full of cheese and sooooo salty. Ate... More

The waitress showed up 20 minutes after we arrived, took our order and then did not manage our order, 3 entrees arrived before the appetizers and my main course didn't arrive until everyone else had finished eating. The "owner" came over and said he would get my entree and be back. He never returned, and it took 20 minutes for... More

The Standard is so much more than pizza (which is always hot and delicious). The salads are innovative and flavourful the pastas come with a wide variety of ingredients and the chef will accommodate the special requests. Seafood is fresh - have been there many times and it is always reliable. Great service. Fantastic outdoor patio and College Street is... More

Pathetic customer service. Staff seem "inconvenienced" by customers. Ordered pizza and was left starving for over 30 minutes. Management initially offered to cancel pizza order, which was an unacceptable solution. Manager's explanation was that staff member responsible for pizza was unavailable, which does not excuse staff's poor management of the problem - no apologies were offered initially. Manager should have... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
Toronto's Little Italy is a city hotspot for cafe culture and nightlife. There's something for everyone in Little Italy, apparent from the cross-section of clubbers in glitzy dresses, and elderly couples arm-in-arm heading to their favorite wine or pasta spot. Cafes spill onto the wide sidewalks, pool lounges and bars are always teeming with noise and activity, and both outdoor and indoor marketplaces are packed with fresh fish, cured meats, and pungent cheeses. All of the activity makes it a perfect spot for people-watching, especially over a nice glass of red wine or a quick and sumptuous slice of pizza at one of the many eateries or trattorias in the area.
