A great selection in the menu. Went there several times and the food quality is consistent. The service is good and personalised. It's small and cosy, not a fancy deco but the food is to be enjoyed.

We came here twice during our short visit to Toronto and were impressed each time. Prices are reasonable. Service is friendly and the food seems to be good quality. I wish they had some beers on tap but the bottle prices are at least reasonable and the sake is good too! Food portion sizes are good too.

I had the pleasure of trying this amazing restaurant with a few friends! I was nervous because I hadn't researched it yet...it was what was closest to us at the time. Such a quaint environment, friendly staff, variety of choices and most importantly great food! I would go again in a flash.

Let me first offer that there are 3 sushi places within 1 block from each other and all look remarkably similar. The non-Shogun restaurants deserve a few less stars and I'm guessing some of their bad reviews landed in here because out of my perhaps 30 visits to Shogun, the food and service has been nothing but perfect. That said:... More

It looked promising based on the extensive menu, but unfortunately one of worst meals I had. Just cannot recommend it. Ordered cold soba noodles, and it tasted as though it had been sitting in the refrigerator for a very long time. My partner's noodle dish had just a few pieces of vegetable and chicken. This was bad chinese food in... More

It's always nice to find sth more traditional in between those modern Yorkville restaurants. The sushi is as it should be. I don't know why ppl keep complaining about the service over here- We're from Germany and to be honest, we're used to worse/the worst service. Think many ppl are spoiled and too expectant when it comes to service in... More

I've been coming here since I was 15. I bring most of my dates here. The staff are friendly, attentive, and know their stuff. Perfect place to have dinner in Yorkville and not have to worry about busting the bank. The food is fresh, the portions generous and the price correct. Recommend in a hearbeat.

This place has seen better days and is a little faded but still reliable for sushi and other things as well. We've always found the service to be professional, gracious and discreet. Tempura deftly made, super light, crispy, non greasy panko. Sushi and sashimi always fresh. Daily lunch special for $6.95 is a good deal. Many options for lunch or... More

Me and my family had visited this restaurant just recently. It was THE WORST service I ever had. First time in my life manager of the restaurant came up to me , after I had already paid around 100$ for dinner, and questioned my tip to the server which was 5$. She told me it should be more. I was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
