From the moment of booking the reservation, Sam was wonderful: warm, inviting and accommodating. After a great day of sailing, we wanted a late dinner outside. The food, the service and wine were perfect, all chosen at the suggestion of the staff. The food appeared swiftly and well timed. The mussels with fresh tarragon, white wine and a touch of... More

About two years ago I gave a very positive review of this restaurant. We returned and the quality remains high. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful, the service prompt and courteous. We had the veal and duck and both were delicious. Sauvignon appears to have a number of neighbour regulars which suggests why they do well. Sauvignon remains the best restaurant... More

We were headed for The Beaches but had no idea the Jazz festival was on. Stopped in here by chance and had a great meal. Portions are big so only had some appetizers. But that was plenty. Great people watching. Limited wine list. Service okay. Mushroom pate good. Shrimp was excellent.

We've dined here on 2 occasions and have enjoyed it both times. The food is consistently good and so is the service. If you are in the Beaches area of Toronto and are looking for nice dining experience, I would recommend this place. The veal is our favorite.

A friend and I came here on Saturday night, I had been able to make a reservation late afternoon. We were greeted warmly, given our choice of seats and had prompt beverage service. Our meal, we had the same thing...scallops were perfect. Service was attentive but relaxed, the place was bustling with a friendly vibe. A splendid evening in a... More

My husband and I have been living in the beaches for 16 years and Sauvignon has been our favorite nearby restaurant for that entire time. What's to love? Pretty much everything! The food is always good. The atmosphere is cozy but with a perfect amount of liveliness and sophistication. And the service couldn't be better! Part of the fun of... More

Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
