Good to the last bite but the sofas used for sitting are very uncomfortable! Service was average! Highly recommend the steak!

We like to make this a mandatory visit, everytime we visit Toronto. Great location, excellent service and never a bad meal. Perfect location and great choice of a menu, depending on the time or day.

The food was well-prepared and the service was pleasant and professional. The clintele was relatively upscale and appropriately attired for this level of restaurant. The problem, for us, was the menu. In all honesty,it is limited and most of the selections were not of our liking. We would recommend this restaurant to individuals who don't mind having relativlely limited or... More

Although Sassafraz is a bit expensive, I highly recommend it if for special occasions. The food is absolutely amazing, the staff are excellent, and the environment is incredibly serene. I recommend the scallops, they are incredibly tender and flavourful. This restaurant is perfect for those looking to dine in casual luxury.

Went her after a customer highly recommended it (he used to live in Toronto). Lobster bite and grilled tomatoes appetizers were excellent. Wife had scallops entree and it was really great, however, it it only three scallops so take that into consideration. I had the halibut/lobster dish and it was pretty good, but I feel the mashed potatoes that the... More

Well, we had just the most delicious lunch on your patio Friday! I'm actually still thinking of it! Risotto cake with smoked salmon avocado and a green salad. It was so yummy! Our server was also a dream just the right mix of friendly, informative and engaging. I cannot wait until my next visit. Thank you!

The food at Sassafraz was absolutely amazing. As vegetarians we had multiple options that all looked great. We got the Ricotta starter and my one suggestion would be to ask for an extra bread basket was there is so much ricotta that you need more bread to eat it all. For my main meal my boyfriend had the linguine which... More

The upstairs room was where the reception for our dear friends was held. The staff was amazing, friendly, courteous and extremely well mannered. I had the salmon and caprese salad. Delicious, I didn't want it to end, it was so tasty. I would return there in a heartbeat.

Brilliant food, great service. Or should I say great waitress. Took a while to get our cocktails 2The bar person is really busy with customers at the bar!" Not impressed, there are around 150 covers I think and just 10 or so bar stools, I think those eating and spending heavily should get priority. That moan aside, fantastic meals, all... More

A nice dinner supported by good service, very good food in a nice location. Please try the steaks (Bison) if possible or the fish. All very good!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
