We stopped in for a quick dinner that was reasonably priced. We had the phud Thai, mango salad and spring rolls. The food was delicious and great service. It was very busy so we had to wait a few minutes for a table. The location is great. Close to downtown. Definitely worth the trip

No way this is the best Thai restaurant in Toronto!!!! The pad thai , which is the most common noodle dish I find in all Thai restaurants ,was soggy when I had it last week,.. and that's enough to deter me from going back to try other dishes..I have a feeling the restaurant has a few short order cooks and... This is where all the students go eat since it is cheap and you get a lot of food! Don't be afraid to go if you're not a student though, this place is always packed. We were a group of 5 on a Friday night and had to over a little over 30min for a seat. Good food and good... More

The atmosphere of the location is great! On an upper level of the building, it's a hip place to get together with friends. I am a huge fan of Pad Thai and I always get the same thing here. I've been to Salad King at least 5 times and there are no changes between the food and service. The food... More

The food is NOT Thai food and didn't taste good. I had a bland curry with some rubbery chicken in it and my boyfriend had basil chicken that was watery and tasted nothing like basil chicken!

Everytime we come in the city, my wife wants to go here. She always orders the same thing (which is off menu), thai islamic noodles with tofu (vegan friendly), and it is truly delicious. It is a nice casual place to eat, would not recommend it for a date as you could be rubbing elbows with the people sitting beside... More

Food too oily. Maybe I was not lucky with my order... Good price and nice ambiance. I will give a second try soon.

I had take out twice. I can't comment on the dine-in experience but it is loud and you'll likely sit next to a stranger as they have long bench seating. Not everyones cup of tea. It gets really busy during peak times so come earlier. The food was okay nothing to rave about. Lastly, the prices are not cheap but... More

What I like about this place is that it's a very casual dining place where you can grab some tasty Thai. Stopped here for some early dinner with a friend and enjoyed the pleasant casual atmosphere. The food was good, nothing exceptional. Service was average. The price (adding a Ryerson discount) came to around 20$ for two people (including tip)... More

As long as you don't mind a loud noisy environment with strangers right beside you for your meal then this place is great. Food is good and service is average.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
