Visited this restaurant beginning of June in a sunny pretty day! We sit at the padiol. The oysters as appetizer and lobsters as main plate were perfect. DELICIOUS!!! We had a Rose wine to harmonize with the food. Bread also very good. The desert tasted very good. Need to make reservations.

The hubs and I were looking for good seafood in Toronto. ROH did not disappoint. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu items and helped choose the oysters that suited our taste. The lobster roll was fresh and delicious. The scallops divine. Will definitely come back during our next trip to Toronto.

Atmosphere was relaxed and jovial , music was not too loud at all. Seafood was excellent, and the winelist was wide ranging and decent quality.

Great place for informal lunch or dinner. It's almost like food not matching the interior - looks like a bar but tastes like up market French restaurant. We were in big group so tried pretty much everything from the menu and it was all very good. And make sure you visit their bathrooms (but no kids there). Overall, very good... More

This place is awesome to eat great oysters, accompanied with wine. The setting is laid back, in a basement restaurant. Staff is sympathetic and helpful. I enjoyed very much all the oysters the servers suggested, and the choice was very varied.

After waiting about 25 minutes because we had no reservations, we were seated outside on the patio. The staff was polite, courteous and very helpful in providing service for our meal. I had the "Hot Smoked Salmon" and the "Rodney's Cobb Salad" which we were told was new on the menu. Both were superb and I highly recommend both dishes... More

We had 7:00 pm reservations. Good time because the metered parking on the street begins at 7:00 pm. You can choose to eat on the patio or inside but you have to let them know ahead when you make your reservation. We started with 2 bowls of the Crab soup which was delicious at a cost of $15 each. There... More

This was a delightful surprise in Toronto. This little place looks like it should be on the east coast but not in a fake way. Our sever was great. He was helpful and knowledgeable. He suggested beer pairings with our seafood orders and the result was excellent. This was by far the best meal I had in Toronto.

John; thanks for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed your stay with us, and that a few local brewskis helped the night go down. Safe travels out in the world. More

The oysters were amazing but the dish that really had us in awe was a selection of smoked fish that melted in our mouths. A perfect charcuterie. Sevice was perfect and the garden made for a lovely setting. Really great experience. Cant wait to go back!!

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
