Not impressed for all the hype. The guy that greeted us was friendly. Once the meal arrived at the table we werent impressed. The lobster roll was not that flavorful. Yes food was ok but however not enough to return. If you want great seafood dont waste your time here.

Exactly as all the other have said, good solid food, nice servers. Good wine list, lobster bisque then a crab, all fresh, tasty and great.

If you love oysters Rodney's is a great addition to a Toronto "To Do" list. We went twice during our recent 2 week trip to Ontario. Their oyster selection is amazing and all 5 dozen we slurped up on our visits were stunning! Some briney, some creamy... all delicious! The staff was knowledgable and a cast of characters. Once you... More

Great spot and the oysters are great with a really great selection. It's a bit on the pricey side but it's worth it. Great location as well.

From the moment you descend into the cool below ground entranceway from the hot street into a room filled with tanks of fresh mussels, oysters, crabs, etc., you know that you are in for something special. I have been frequenting Rodney's for many years, even before they moved to their location on King Street West. Service is always exceptionally friendly... More

It was a little bit hard to find the place on King street because we are looking the other side (my mistake I had a wrong number). Once we found we fall in love with the place. The decor was charming and appropriate for what we were looking for. Dozens of oysters from several places. Service was attentive and we... More

Found it on Tripwolf and it was just as I expected it to be. Although it was a bit dark for the middle of the day the environment was nice. People were competent and friendly, the oysters were delicious.

I have been there several times, and most recently this August, it was a must stop while I was is Toronto. The interior is nicely decorated with sea theme, there are large aquariums inside where you can see the live crabs and lobsters (lots of fun for kids). The service is very friendly and professional. And if course, oysters are... More

I heard about Rodney's from all of our friends in Toronto, as many consider it a Toronto establishment, and a must-try. The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially that we came in late night and without reservations, but the overall experience was on the average side. The soups were below average and tasted more like a Campbell Soup chowder than... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
